saw your tags and also about to explode from needing to talk about this episode - the scene with molly hints there is DEFINITELY something more - especially looking at her appearance/manner of speaking, molly has always been a character that tries her best to seem put together, especially around sherlock - she would never allow herself to appear exhausted and ragged and beaten down in front of him, nevermind say the one thing that would be guaranteed to hurt him most
YES EXACTLY!! like come on she was in love with him and then they became friends! she lets him stay at her house IN HER ROOM, because she still got that attachment to him. there’s absolutely no way she’d be that harsh, even if john told her to say that. like presumably the letter is more of the same (if it even is from john, which it might not be), so there’s no reason for her to say something that she KNOWS will hurt sherlock. except we can tell from how stressed she looks combined with that that something else is going on.
