Moftiss has tricked us before.

Everyone is flipping their shit over the last episode, but I think that it’s time to calm down and start evaluating. C’mon, we’re sherlockians; we know how to handle craziness.

First of all, let’s all remember that in Sherlock, things that appear solid and concrete could very well be completely false. We saw Sherlock fall off that hospital. We watched him die. But in the end, it turned out to all be a magic trick. Hell, 90% of the scenes in the most recent episode were drug-induced hallucinations.

So let’s gather the ‘facts.’

Mary died (she could have faked it, but that would be a bit repetitive)

John cheated on Mary (did he? Are we sure?)

Mary told Sherlock to go to Hell (that’s a bit random, isn’t it? It sounds to me like a message. She told him to save John; maybe now she’s telling him how/where)

John blames Sherlock and thinks he broke his vow (John knows very well that he broke his own vow. He’s wracked with guilt and grief, especially if he really did cheat on Mary. That guilt and grief spoke for him, and you can’t blame him for that. It may also have been a projection of his own anguish, because if he did indeed break his vow, then he is all too aware of it)

Also, guys, I’m pretty sure John doesn’t know that Mary jumped in front of Sherlock. Please quit saying that Sherlock could have jumped out of the way; he was shocked by the suddenness of it, and he’s not perfect. He was totally unprepared, but Mary is far more accustomed to situations that can only be dealt with by action. Sometimes there’s just no time to think, and she knows how to deal with that far more than he does.

John blames Sherlock for Mary’s death (does he? Or does he blame himself, and he’s taking it out on Sherlock? Or maybe he just doesn’t want to talk to Sherlock because he loves him, and he wants to be alone with his grief? Who knows what’s going through his head)

Also, coming from my experience as a writer: writers will frequently get everyone seriously angry at a character before either completely redeeming them or killing them off. Be careful about getting too angry at John; Moftiss could very well be planning to make us love him to death in the next episodes.
