second of all, i just have an image in my brain of turlough having to very ceremonially help the doctor put on/take off time lord robes & collar. possibly this stems from a combination of thoughts from it's raining again... (where he's the doctor's servant and rubs oil into his thighs) and lords of the storm (where he tries to out-snob someone by telling them the doctor's the president of gallifrey and he himself gets mistaken as the doctor's servant) and zeitgeist (where he meets a version of five called the savant who never left gallifrey who mistakes him for an academy student and scolds him), plus eldrad must die! (which says that turlough was a slave worker on trion after the civil war and he's indebted to his solicitor bc the man bought him) and the infinity doctors (the doctor having been unwillingly returned to gallifrey and is meant to have a servant, although he refuses one).

i could either justify it as like, it being a time-honored tradition that the president of gallifrey keep an alien servant as a corrupted holdover from ancient gallifreyan times (the other's rship to rassilon getting muddled with that of his own tersuran servant), orrr specifically the doctor getting/being given an alien servant as a feeble attempt to assuage his unable-to-be-enacted upon wanderlust. in either case turlough is presumably sold to the time lords post-civil war. perhaps it's even an element in trion's ongoing attempts to try to negotiate w the time lords into allowing them to become time-active.

I thankfully was able to recover my file and wasn’t set too far back, so besides some shadows I need to add and maybe an arbitrary blink animation, I have the second half of this map part finished! Yes the Turlough image is in fact from this fabled map part I’m working on. I just gotta lock in and animate the first half of doom and despair.
