          𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐌 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐒𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓’𝐃 𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐃 𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐋𝐘 ,  as he does often ,  when her words hit his ears a few seconds after she speaks them aloud among his ranting && raving.  head had been turned away , but quickly he does almost a full turn around just to face her.  a weight has shifted into his chest , brows pulled together in confusion as king takes a moment to try && process , to think :   ❝  i- . . what- . . did i hear that right?  ❞  malcolm asked quickly ,  finger pointed toward the other across from him.   eyes have widened ,  skin a little more pale than it might’ve been previously !     ;      (  the weight in his chest isn’t bad , isn’t negative.  it’s excitement , it’s nerves that he might’ve heard her    𝖜𝖗𝖔𝖓𝖌   && is about to be disappointed.  they haven’t been married long , he knows , && everyone’s been    𝙿𝚄𝚂𝙷𝙸𝙽𝙶   them for an heir or two . . but , this moment won’t be for the public or even for the future of the throne.  it’ll be for them.   )    step is taken closer to rosalind ,     ❝  are you- . .  ❞  c’mon , get a full sentence out !     ❝  love , are you pregnant?  is that what you said?  ❞   / @roseata​​    gets cute , parent things !

          𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐈𝐑 𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐔𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍 , 𝐁𝐘 𝐃𝐄𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 , 𝐌𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐘 𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 . . not something neither of them would’ve foreseen for themselves nor particuarly wanted yet for whatever reason , as thankful he is ,  it seemed to have worked out for the better !     malcolm had always wanted to marry for love , so when the idea of a arranged marriage was pushed after the death of his father ,  && his place taken on the throne ,  he had been . . reluctant ,  but he did it anyways because he knew it to be best for the country.    (   that’s what being king means , isn’t it?  looking after the people , the country , even at the cost of your own happiness?  that’s what his father taught him ,  but malcolm was determined to make it work . . to find some happiness in this life.  he can’t be some stone cold , joyless robot.   )      ;        hands remain clasped behind the taller ones back ,  a grin breaking out against his lips at her comment━a warmth spreads from the inside like a blooming flower in springtime.      ❝   neither us    𝙴𝚇𝙿𝙴𝙲𝚃𝙴𝙳   to love one another , i’d think.  ❞     spoken honestly as he always want.  eyes flicker away for a moment in thought before returning to rosalind ,    ❝  but we did  && that is a very . . . dear thing to me.  ❞   the grin turns to a smile , genuine still as dimples press into her cheeks.   step is taken toward the other ,  hand reaching down to take rosalind’s in his arm as it’s brought against lips for a kiss to be placed on the back of her hand.      ❝  we must be going , darling.  we have much to do , the sooner we tackle it the better don’t you think?  ❞  then they can be away from the public for a little while ,  in peace.

          𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐘’𝐃 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐑𝐄 𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 ,    the surrounding people becoming more of a frustration then anything else as tension continued to run high.  touches against arm or lower back , the brush of hands against one another , or the ghost of whispers close to shell of ear only electrifying what malcolm was sure they were   𝒃𝒐𝒕𝒉 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈.     (  he could hear the patter of her heart , the way it rushed when he touched her or looked at her too long.  a perk of being what he is? maybe.  he could gauge her reactions , biologically anyways , && react accordingly.   a little less contact , more contact?  he saw it somewhat as a game━dangerous as it was for this current moment in time with them surrounded by people , in a public area of the palace for tonight’s dinner.   )      ;        shoulders roll a little , breath being pushed past his lips as body leaves rosalind to go inform someone that he ,  && rosalind ,  were going to be right back . . that he just remembered some “urgent business” that he needed to inform of her of before the rest of the evening began.    walking back , her hand is taken silently as head nods in the direction of upstairs.  somewhat urgently , though not    𝙾𝙱𝚅𝙸𝙾𝚄𝚂  ,  he pulls the pair of them into their apartment before shutting && locking the door.   a slight witty comment was made by the smaller female , smirk pressing against prince’s lips as hands wrap ‘round the other to pull her up && against his body just as he was being tugged down.   lips attach themselves to her own , a touch feverish.  suddenly ,  he feels her hands working on the buttons of his suit shirt ,    ❝  if you’re a good girl , then maybe i’ll give you what you want.  be good for me && you can have whatever you want-  ❞ they couldn’t take forever ,  but he was filled to the brim with a desperate    𝖉𝖊𝖘𝖎𝖗𝖊   for her.   arm tightens its hold , while lifting , as the other hooks under rosalinds thigh to keep her upright against him.  feet move toward their bed ,  body gently lowering the pair of them downward.  lips remove themselves before attaching to her throat , one free hand slowly moving to push the fabric of evening gown upward.     ❝  tell me what you want.  ❞

      𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐘𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆 , 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐂𝐀𝐌𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐒 , && 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐌 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄   malcolm could finally enjoy himself && his birthday.    inside the theater they’d gone to , his wife && himself seated high above away from many prying eyes && any possible sneaky photographers ,  malcolm has seated himself beside rosalind as hand comfortably holds hers in his own with joined hands rested in his lap.  eyes && most of his attention might be focused on the  𝖋𝖎𝖗𝖘𝖙 𝖆𝖈𝖙   of the play they’d be seeing , but thumb occasionally rubs against her soft , warm skin as reassurance && general affection.   (   something the royals weren’t accustomed to showing much in private , but especially in public around another people. malcolm , however , didn’t care what everyone else did or thought about him showing rosalind the affection he wanted.   )       ;      eyes tear away from the scene being finished && head turned toward the blonde at his side ,  hand is given a squeeze as a small smile appears :     ❝  having a good time thus far , darling?  ❞   asked in a soft tone , almost a whisper even though he knew if he spoke louder whatever was said or expressed between them wouldn’t be repeated by the guards behind.    smile widened a little at rosalind leaning her head against his shoulder briefly , malcolm in turn leaning across the small    𝙶𝙰𝙿   between them to press a quick kiss to her forehead.     ❝  good , i know these things can be quit the opposite of exciting.   it’s no unveiling or other ,  but i like them.  i hope you do too. ❞    eyes return to stage below them. 

         𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐒 𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐍 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐅𝐔𝐋𝐋𝐘 𝐓𝐎 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐒 , 𝐁𝐑𝐎𝐖𝐒 𝐏𝐔𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐎𝐆𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐋𝐘.     rosalind was expressing her concern about going out to a engagement that had been scheduled && brought up earlier in the week ,   one of their first really public outings since their marriage && soon to be taking the throne as king.   malcolm chopped it up to being more nerves than anything ,  which was more than 𝚄𝙽𝙳𝙴𝚁𝚂𝚃𝙰𝙽𝙳𝙰𝙱𝙻𝙴  !    he’d been in one spot light or another since the day he was born  .  . he’s no stranger to the flashing lights of cameras , the yelling of subjects or photographers alike.  rosalind is another story━she just needs some time to grow accustomed to so much attention && he isn’t one to dismiss that particular anxiety or worry.     ;     eyes settle on the woman sitting on the edge of his bed ,  hand taking itself from pocket long enough for finger to gently tuck under her chin && direct eyes upward toward him.   ❝  no need to apologize ,  ❞    says malcolm ,    ❝  i understand how nerve wracking all this attention must be ,  you have ever right to be hesitant.  ❞     gentle smile forms against his lips ,   hand lowering from her face && back into his pocket.     a step is taken toward the double large doors ,  body turned in that direction :      ❝  you   𝖘𝖙𝖆𝖞 𝖍𝖊𝖗𝖊     for the evening if that’s what you’re most comfortable ,  i’ll go to this . . theater show && dinner with the men i need to meet.  i’ll be back soon , alright?  ❞   brow arches , a moment passing awaiting reassurance.     ❝  goodnight , rosalind.  ❞     && he’s turned toward the door , footmen nodding their heads && muttering a   ‘your majesty’  in his wake.

          𝐕𝐈𝐎𝐋𝐀 𝐅𝐄𝐋𝐓 𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐎𝐅 𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐇.  at least if that was the case then death cannot come for something that it of itself . . even if it had viola would simply ignore the rasps on the door or the call of some great beyond━did she really even believe in that now?   it’s been two years past her expected life span with her condition ,  && still she    𝚁𝙴𝙵𝚄𝚂𝙴𝚂   to go.   body can ache && hurt && hold all the misery she can take ,  but spirit remains as if this sickness had never overtaken her !    (    viola has a daughter to think about.  a child she wishes to see grow into a woman ,  see get married ,  && see claim ownership of bly━once that was all said && done then she may consider finally letting go.   her illness will not take her && it’s her stubbornness that’s kept her alive this long.   )     ;    ❝  i’m not tired.  ❞     a lie , argued the older sister ,    ❝  all i do is rest , perdita.  it may be required from the doctors , but i’d like not to be confined to this damned bed any longer than what’s suggested.  ❞     ‘suggestion’  stressed , tone && attitude    𝖈𝖑𝖊𝖆𝖗   that viola llyod , lady of bly manor , will do as she damn well pleases && as long as it’s safe for isabelle.   every one can go to hell.   (  though viola may not be the best at showing gratitude , especially with this more soured , angered outlook on the hand life had dealt her , but she is grateful for what her sister has done for her thus far.   )       ❝  perhaps it’s you who needs a rest , dear sister.  you look awfully pale.  are you taking care of yourself while tending to me?  ❞
