As much as I love Canon!Alastor being Justice-adjacent as a character, what if AU!Alastor was like Patience-adjacent as an opposite for his possibly canon sin of Wrath?

Maybe Alastor and his mother switch personalities?

Amelie is a single “widowed” mother with an ever present smile. She’s the belle of New Orleans music scene and a secret serial killer disposing of very bad people to make the world safer for her son.

Alastor is her gentle and loving son who too pure for the world. He idolises his mother and like her overcame many difficulties to become the most popular voice on radio. He is an figurative angel on Earth.

Hmmm, if we're going for opposite of Wrath, what if rather than the Angel of Justice he was the Angel of Mercy?

It could also come with darker implications and provide a reason for Alastor to believe he belongs in Hell; what if Alastor had killed once during the war, a friend and fellow soldier who was beyond saving, and so he chose to put him out of his misery? In Alastor's mind, he may have killed with good intentions, but it was still an unforgivable sin.

So imagine his shock when years later he dies and wakes up in Heaven! Doubly so when he realises that his maman is not up there too! Clearly, something is wrong here, he decides, and somehow he uses his radio frequencies to connect to Hell, and either Rosie, Roo or Roosie answer before forging a deal to get to Hell.

Ooh, for extra fun, what if he hides his angelic status in plain sight by claiming to be a Periton Sinner?

Rosie: Maybe go to that hotel that the Princess of Hell is making, the one whose mother’s been missing for seven years, which coincidentally lines up with the time the exterminations started and the time I took you here to adjust for no reasons in particular. Maybe you’ll find some answers there.

Lol yes this is basically Rosie/Roo in this AU! You have her down pat!

The reason why Rosie dresses and styles her town in Edwardian style is because that’s when Eve ‘died’ so to speak. Roo, while came into existence after the bite of the apple, didn’t have a form until it felt Eve die and formed Rosie. Rosie would then reach out to Alastor to make their deal to drag their beloved follower back into hell, keeping her claws so tight around his soul Heaven nor Lucifer will take him away again

Also maybe Rosie herself even took the place of Lilith for a while (effectively destroying the Morningstar family) so no one realized that she was missing. This was not to help Heaven however, this was just so she could get Eve all to herself.

I love it! Now we know the Exterminations started seven years ago and at the same time Lilith vanished, I actually really like the headcanon I came up with that forced reincarnation HURTS a soul, so it feels back in time to use the presence of its whole self as a sort of splint to grow, so Rosie/Roo is using Edwardian time because that's the time Alastor was BORN.

Here's my headcanon for how it goes down. The Root of All Evil exists, and is let in by Eve eating the apple, and in doing so it becomes sentient, conscious, and takes the name 'Roo' - but it's still trapped.

Until Eve/Lilith is forced to reincarnate and suddenly her soul is in two places at once, and it allows a bit of Roo out into hell, where she takes the name Rosie and sets about befriending her beloved Eve in the form of the Queen of Hell, while also preparing for Alastor to come to Hell and the moment the Stable Time Loop will close.

She's so, so happy when Alastor summons her because, thanks to Mimzy calling him an Altruist and his victims victims praying for him he's worried he might go to heaven (she takes a look at his soul and he's right to be worried) so she doesn't even ask for his soul to get him to Hell, she says she wants a task and will even put a time limit on the task of a hundred years, after which if he hasn't completed it he gets his soul back, provided he DOES attempt to fulfill the task. Alastor, who just really wants to go to hell, is like 'sure, that's fine, its a deal!' and they shake - and then to make sure nothing could possibly stop him from going to hell she makes sure he dies the day after.

The task?

Remember who you are. Remember your past life. She doesn't want to own his soul - she wants him to love her, to be with her willingly, to free the rest of her from the Pentagram Moon that it is trapped in and for them to rule Earth Heaven and Hell together.

And until he does?

I like to think that after the reveal Charlie and Lucifer DOES try to go confront Rosie, but as soon as they arrive to Cannibal Town she’s disappeared. They find out by first the residents acting dumb about “Who’s Rosie?” (She’s gone back to using Roo but they don’t know that yet. And Rosie gave strict instructs not to let them figure it out) and when Charlie says “The Leader of your town?!?!” They bring out…..Susan.

Yep. Susan is now the leader of Cannibal Town. No one except Susan is happy about this

(Works in Rosie’s favor because people are worshipping her harder to GET HER BACK HERE ALREADY)

Susan also goes along with the “Who’s Rosie?” bit until they give up. Finally Charlie asks how did she even become the leader of cannibal town-no one likes her!

Susan explains she’s only the temporary leader. She will happily bragged about how she’s their Overlord’s second favorite, and therefore was automatically chosen as leader while she went to go “prepare”. Prepare what is not said and they cannot get it out of her because she’s too focused on bragging.

As they leave though, Susan does let something slip out.

“Course the only reason why I’m here is because her most beloved managed to get out of her grasp again. But she’ll fix that real soon-third time’s the charm!”

Ooh yes - the Cannibals know full well who their overlady is most of them worshipped her while alive!

And SUSAN is in charge! Lol no wonder the rest want Rosie to come back!

When it comes to the Morningstar family, the thoughts are varying compared to OG!Lilith who just straight up hates them. She’s content with letting Lucifer prance around and act king, she guess he deserves one thing since he did help give Eve the Apple, but yeah for the most part she dislikes him, and to makes things worse she sees him on the level of a common sinner. With Charlie she’s a lot more receptive to. She could easily see her corrupting Charlie to be one of her followers and she’ll always take care of her followers, and she does support the whole redemption idea (if it means she can get her claws into heaven and tear it apart-) but she doesn’t have a strong love for the girl, and would prefer to just push her to the side if necessary. At the very least she won’t hurt Charlie too bad, that is her beloved’s daughter after all.

Of course we know how she feels about Alastor lol.

The only person she truly hates is God. This isn’t even a “Oh we’re opposites of course we oppose each other” Nah this is HATE SHE HATES THAT GUY. Smug ass motherfucker think he’s SOOO important because he created everything WELL GUESS WHAT ASSHOLE YOU DIDN’T CREATE ME AND I’M GOING TO DESTROY EVERYTHING YOU MAKE!! WHO’S THE ALL POWERFUL NOW HUH?! Everyone else, even Lucifer, she’s mostly chill and cordial, but once God is mention she turns into a Grade A hater

She’s always trying to corrupt Alastor to be worse. Fall deeper into her hands, enjoy your fill, do whatever you wish because I love you and I want to see you destroyed (metaphorically). Alastor doesn’t fall for it, just like how Eve and Lilith didn’t, but that’s fine. She’s content to be at his ear, whispering about how easy, how much fun, how happier it would be if you just did this one more thing…

A fun little idea-Rosie was obviously super worried that Alastor would be recognized and taken to Heaven during the exterminations so she ordered him to stay by her side and put a spell to disguise him-introducing him as her new husband Franklin. Yep, her longest standing spouse was actually Alastor ordered to stay by her side. She kept a tight leash on him during this, he was allowed to mingle with Cannibal residents but that’s basically it, not allowed to leave Cannibal Town or contact anyone, not even Niffty or Husk. He always had to wear his disguise in public, even if the residents knew he was secretly Alastor. And he is definitely out of any cameras or angels sights. If he was good he might get a newspaper to keep up on news but that’s the closest he’ll get to the outside during those seven years. Luckily Charlie steps up and Rosie thinks she might be a good way to remember who he is.

In the finale after the reveal (if the reveal happens in season 2) I imagine that the tables are turned. The breaking of the deal is still the same-although Alastor is the strongest sinner in Hell if he accesses the powers that were previously his, Rosie had promised that he WILL be the strongest, and Vox surpassed him, breaking their deal. However instead of making a new deal, it’s Rosie who taunts him with the ideas of their deaths, saying that if he does not remember they’ll all die. Alastor tries to play it off saying he doesn’t care for them, and if she wants them to be saved then she should make a deal with him. Rosie laughs about how she doesn’t care if they all live or die, she only cares if she has her beloved back by her side. She can wait-they cannot. Feel free to take as long as he wish, she’ll be ready for him. Seeing as Rosie is not going to help, Alastor has no choice but to think back of his past life and regain the powers of the Queen.

This is fantastic! Agree on Roosie hating God, and her thoughts on Lucifer and Charlie - and I love the idea she had Alastor as Franklin during that time! He appeared in his human self's form, and everyone in cannibal town knew but they all called him Franklin. He was SO BORED, because she kept him not just on Extermination days but since the angels left their steel she kept him the whole time! Roosie and Alastor constantly doing the dance of 'why not kill this person who is not being explicitly racist but just rude and vulgar, why not give into lust, why not cheat this man of his earnings?' And Alastor just smiles and swans around all her traps.

I think the reveal in season their conversation is very different - he still wants her to fix his staff, she says no - so instead of saying 'you'll watch them die unless you do' he says - 'you'll watch ME die unless you do.' Roosie pauses, hesitates, she knows Alastor knows Eve knows how much he wishes to live - surely he's bluffing!

Alastor just smiles at her and holds out the staff. 'Will you risk it?'

She can't help but smile at him, and then they go out together to stop the weapon.

If Rosie is possessed by Roo, I like to imagine the scenario of Lucifer and Charlie confronting her.

Charlie is heartbroken over the idea that Rosie who helped her while she was struggling was secretly manipulating her and her mother and just wanting to know WHY?

Lucifer is meanwhile is beyond furious that this 'Posie' bitch specifically targetted Alastor with clear knowledge of who/what he is and is ready to perma-kill in order to free his (ex)wife's soul.

Rosie just smiles calmly, sipping her tea, refusing to answer Charlie's questions beyond the little comment on how lovely her pet is.

Lucifer snaps and lunges forward, claws inches from the fearless Rosie's throat, only for Alastor to full bodily throw himself over her to protect his friend's body.

Lucifer: *instantantly recoiling back* Alastor, what are you-

Alastor: *snarling* Don't you dare hurt her!

Rosie: Good boy~♡

So in this, when Amelie landed in Hell Rosie found her and made her a deal—protection and provision for her and her child in exchange for her soul. Amelie accepts—she’s pregnant and in Hell, of course she does. Alastor grows up not knowing about the soul deal but viewing Rosie as his Aunt who helped raise him. We get to the seven year mark, and I say Lilith captures him and tortures him into giving her his soul, which she then uses to order him to look after Charlie and help her with the hotel when she starts it, then swans off to Heaven. Alastor gets back to Hell proper and the first thing he does is visit his mother and Aunt Rosie. Aunt Rosie, who promptly reveals the soul deal and tells Alastor that he will make sure the hotel fails or his mother will pay for it. Rosie is actually Roo, and these Exterminations have been helping her get strong enough to break fully from her deal so she does not want them stopped. The Exterminations have been going since Charlie’s birth, it was why Lucifer and Lilith were originally fighting and why Rosie is able to physically exist in Hell proper at all.

Alastor is feeling horribly betrayed, and takes Amelie to the hotel mostly to keep her nearby and away from Rosie (who allows it to serve as a reminder). Also, maybe, to see if she can be redeemed because if anyone deserves Heaven it’s her. Alastor proceeds to tightrope walk between the two conflicting orders.

Now we get to the Early Extermination. Amelie has pack bonded with the people at the hotel and more importantly refuses to leave her son to face potential non-existence without her there to watch his back. Alastor begs her to leave and she refuses—she is going to be there to defend her boy and this hotel. And after a century in Hell she has learned how to fight.

Well, Alastor may have had a point in begging her to leave because she goes down in the Extermination, and Alastor comes back onto the battlefield to find her body in the wreckage. He…does not handle it particularly well. Charlie and Co. find him holding her body and sobbing violently. He flies off (he has wings inherited from Lucifer), manifests a big bayou pocket dimension and buries her beneath the willow tree at its center—once the pocket dimension fades it will take her body with it, giving her a much more peaceful final resting place than Hell.

For maximum angst, I think the Number of Kills thing happens after this, with the whole Charlie connecting the dots thing. So not only has Alastor had two of his parents torture him, he had another parental figure (Rosie) stab him in the back by using his mother’s soul as blackmail, and he has permanently lost his main parent. And he’s still injured from Adam, since—while people went looking for him after he flew off to bury Amelie because he Did Not Look Good, they thought all the blood on him was Amelie’s not his.

I have a ton more thoughts on how this proceeds through season 2 but this is already kinda lengthy—just the one last thing; Amelie was killed by Adam but she appeared in Heaven as a redeemed soul. Alastor does not find this out until the big Heaven-Hell broadcast towards the end, so they eventually have a very happy and tear-filled reunion.

Ooh i love this - I want Lilith to find out she tortured her son and be horrified and want to try and bond with him, make it up to him, but that possibility is absolutely shattered now, he only looks at her with fear and hatred, and its her own fault.

Alastor has learned no one in hell can be trusted but his mother, and now he's lost her - at least until he sees her again in the big broadcast at the end.
