i'm posting this because i wanna see if other people agree, so i'm sorry if this isn't grammatically correct because i'm just rambling here.
okay, i actually love avatar ships. i adore the ones that are canon (jeytiri, spiri, loreya, ronowari, quarang) but i also adore the ones that aren't canon. some of my favs, for example: quarjake, neyrang, rontiri, aonunete (this one could honestly be considered canon but i'm putting it here), and kireya. like i am not asking for them to be canon because i understand canonically they don't make perfect sense and disturbs the set storyline. i don't want them to be canon because i love the canon ships but that doesn't mean i don't love seeing such detailed fanfiction about them. like writers who take just a bit of the original storyline and make an alternate universe where certain ships happen are so amazing to me because there are so many variations of them. everyone will come up with a different alternate universe when writing because no two pieces of literature are exactly the same. even if it is similar, it will always be different because of different interpretations. i also just love thinking about how these ships would work out and how they would occur. i love the concepts of these ships too, or sometimes i'm just fascinated by them.
i love fanfiction and fanart with my whole heart and seeing other people interpret ships differently and make different stories or comics involving them will forever be some i cherish.
basically, i love a bunch of different ships even if they are not the canon ones because i can differentiate between canon ships and fanmade ones. i love the canon storyline, but i love when people make their own altered storylines to make a ship they like work.
also, i will never be one of those people that say "__ is getting in the way of __!" because that's just stupid. like obviously the fanmade ships will never happen because they're not the storyline that james cameron has, but that doesn't mean people can't take the concept and run with it. but hating character for getting in the way of a ship that is not canon is stupid.
