- Dating Rollo is like dating a cat: he’ll hiss if you get too close, and comes only when he wants to.
- Contrary to popular belief I don’t think Rollo would be a very controlling partner, he’s simply a worrier. He worries about your safety, about how you may be perceived by the mages at NRC and NBC. He’s constantly holding himself back from fretting over you, finding it unseemly, but a part of him just wants to hold you close and keep you as safe as possible.
- A tsundere at his core, he hates making his pathetic obsession with you obvious, trying to act as indifferent as he can. But spend long enough with him to know his micro behaviours, and it’s obvious to anyone that he’s absolutely head over heels
- TOUCH STARVED! This man hasn’t felt the warm comforting touch of another human being since the age of the dinosaurs. His mind is at war nearly daily, a clash between his cold, unfeeling image and the yearning to feel your skin on his. Whether it be holding hands or simply sitting close enough for your shoulders to touch, as much as he’ll scoff and act like it’s unseemly, inside, he’s a goopy mess.
- Rollo is a busy man, with his list of priorities being almost never ending. But for those he cares for, he will always find time. No matter how endlessly busy he seems, you’ll always get a very formal-sounding letter requesting your presence to visit a new patisserie, or to take a walk through the streets of Fleur City, or accompany him in the library for a study date. Whatever it may be, your presence by his side is a comfort to his tortured soul, and he feels the angelic purity of your kind smile and gentle touch tenfold on those days when he’s overwhelmed with duties and the unbearable guilt of his past.
- He will never, and I mean NEVER admit when he needs help. An important part of dating Rollo is understanding when he’s past his limit, because the man is too proud to vocalize his needs, no matter how dire his state. Sometimes all it takes is hugging him when he’s at his desk, stressed out over his duties, or bringing him a cup of coffee with a kiss to his temple, those little things are what make him appreciate you, and slowly understand that you’re someone he can rely on. He’s scared to ask for help, but worm your way into his fortress of a heart and break down those bad habits of his, for you’re the only one close enough to do so.
- Rollo suffers from terrible bouts of insomnia, paired with various nightmares. These affect him a lot more than he lets on, but ever since the two of you have spent more time together, he’s found sleep comes easier to him. The feeling of your arm wrapped around his waist, burying his face in the crook of your neck, he drifts off to a gentle, dreamless sleep almost instantly. His eye bags have greatly reduced in size, becoming so apparent that even his fellow classmates and council members have commented on his more refreshed appearance.
- If you aren’t a magic user, Rollo will view you as a sort of pure being, someone untainted by the impure temptations of magic. He treats you with extra care and safety, not because he views you as some fragile glass vase who can’t protect themselves, but because he knows personally how cruel and uncaring magic is. He doesn’t want what happened to his brother to happen to you, he can’t lose someone else he cares for again.
- If you are a magic user, oh boy you’re in for a ride. Rollo holds a lot of extreme, bigoted views against magic users, bordering on being severely hypocritical with his own magical ability. Even after the events of Glorious Masquerade, he still holds on to his hatred, vowing to eventually destroy all magic users. As such, the fact that you managed to worm your way into his heart is a feat in itself. Deconstructing Rollo’s damaging mentality and helping him to deal with his trauma will be a challenge, but since he’s come to care for you so deeply despite your magic, he’s more inclined to hear you out. It’s a slow process, but he’ll eventually become more accepting of magic as a whole, and even mellow out into not holding such unhealthy vengeance in his heart, instead replacing it with the love and care he holds for you.
