On their way to Mutsu, Cross collapses from exhaustion as she is seemingly heavily pregnant to carry on running. Just then, the three dogs step in to help - it’s Oliver, Beth and Rokusuke! With the appropriate amount of rest, the dogs managed to reach to the town alley where the trucks are parked. They managed to sneak into one of the trucks before it could start up.
The difference from the manga to the anime is that Cross wasn’t carried on Benizakura’s back in the manga. Also, the anime cut out Rokusuke and Beth because they were just pointless characters. Rokusuke and Beth were the perverted dogs who tried to harass Cross until Oliver saved her by pulling her into his hole and then, he defeated the two perverted mutts. Thus, when Rokusuke and Beth became Oliver’s servants as some kind of punishment after their defeat, they turned into comic relief dogs.
