when tarn first encounters rodimus on the lost light, he describes him as: “resplendent and burning, alive and in their colors”

By their colors, does he mean when Rodimus was in his blue and purple phase? Sorry, I haven’t read all of mtmte yet and I wasn’t sure what he meant by that.

I never mind a question about my fics. At that point in time Rodimus is still red, orange, and yellow. Rodimus doesn't repaint himself until after the end of MTMTE. He's purple and blue in Lost Light comic run. Blueberry Rodimus could be coordinated with Tarn though which is a fun thought.

"Their colors" refer to how Rodimus copied Damus's colors when he first woke up since I have a theory that fresh protoforms can be easily influenced in some forms of presentation based off Whirl's Scraplet Baby's imitation of one.

Part of why Rodimus's emotional compromised behind thought banging Tarn was a good idea is he is in denial about the whole being in love with Drift Thing because Drift was pretty firm that they should be Amica and friends only and Rodimus had been the one who'd wanted to be Conjunx. Something that he admits to Tarn, who is very understanding about unrequited love and acts very smug and hissy around Drift's return until Rodimus and he work out that "hey yeah babe I am firmly choosing you like if Drift and Ratchet invited me right now I'd say no babe it's you".

Tarn is actually beneficial in helping Rodimus move on and really go friend only with Drift. They both, at first, think that this is an affectionate friend with benefits turn co-parents situation and are pretty up front about this because Rodimus is not going through thinking he is pre-Conjunx with someone again. But they both catch feels, and Rodimus starts taking Tarn on dates after the babies, formal ones to feel him out. He isn't head over heels like with Drift, so he didn’t recognize it as a potentially different feeling and mostly felt surprisingly comfortable and unjudged.

Tarn though has gone full poetry pining because he is always 0 to 100. He's super possessive but also has some issues convinced Rodimus won't be interested in him and lingering insecurities. He also has to be talked down several times from arranging an accident when Drift's on ship.

Rodimus once he's sure, post talking to Drift and Rung, sits Tarn down for a serious talk because his feelings changed. Tarn experiences a half second in between Rodimus finishing fully plotting to murder Drift and Hatchet Rodimus only for Rodimus to ask if he'd consider him for a Conjunxing Courtship.

So I did remember correctly, yes so unrequited love on Rodimus's part, Drift who honestly wants to be just friends, and Tarn being jealous and murderous more

Tarn actually helping Rodimus is such a trip like yes, it helped him choose amicaship with Drift and let go of that unrequited crush but also to want to tie the knot with Mc Murderman Tarn. Yes.

Tarn does not do things in halfs does he lol

That poetry has to be pretty fucking cool though because you can make so much cool poetry about Rodimus
