Rod Rian of the Sky Police, The Comics # 7 1938. Later the strip is canceled by Dell and shows up again as Rod Rian and the Inter-Planetary Police in Flash Comics # 2, 1940. Gone from Flash after issue # 11 he is not seen again. His Satanic Majesty later changes his name to Mick Jagger and enjoys much greater success.

WORK IN PROGRESS: ROD RIAN. Rod Rian is a super-obscure space hero from the early days of Dell Comics. I did an 8-page revival for the first issue of InDELLible Comics’ Popular Comics #1. This is part of a stalled second episode.
Appearing 78 years ago in the sixth issue of Dell’s The Comics in December of 1937, Rod Rian of the Sky Police would stay in that comic for another four or five issues then disappeared until reappearing in Flash Comics # 2 in 1940 where he would stay until issue # 11.
