Or I accidentally over ripened my rock melon but it still tastes fine. Mildly alcoholic tasting but still very sweet. I was reading online and all the sites that question the taste of over ripened rock melon say that they taste bad and taste like acetone but I laugh in their faces bc jokes on you I grew up on durian and it tastes almost exactly like the really good kinds (the very nice bittersweet ones you can get from certain roadside stalls and fruit farms in Malaysia. Mao Shan Wang and D24 are my faves.) that now that I think about it.

Durians are delicious. Also very sugar intensive.

Also yeah, I’m Singaporean and did eat a lot of durian as a child. Family used to travel to Johor once a year, and occasionally we’d go to this one specific roadside stall to buy durian. I was the person who has to limit my dad’s durian intake. Now I just join him in indulging.
