[Spock is headed to the laboratory to conduct some experiments on a sticky pink bacterial substance the shore party encountered last mission when he feels a stir in the back of his mind. If he were planet-side, this would not be altogether shocking as there are numerous organisms that release passive telepathic wavelengths. However, on the Enterprise, Spock is used to a silent mind undisturbed by the natterings of psychic chatter. So this whisper is… unusual to say the least.
Spock follows the murmuring in his mind to the aft Jefferies tube and hesitates beside a nearby vent as the murmuring grows louder and begins to sound like… purring? Moving incredibly quickly, he manages to pry off the vent cover with long fingers and out hops Samuel, a little dusty and bedraggled.]
Samuel. I have recommended that you be careful sticking your whiskers into unknown areas within this ship in case such an event should occur. I ask that you be more careful in the future.
[While he sounds as logical as ever, Spock is evidently deeply relieved that no harm has befallen the curious little cat.]

(ooc: feel free to wait on this one if Sammy needs more vent time!)
*Samuel had been in the vents for nearly a day and a half now. He had explored parts of the ship multiple times over, but even that had gotten boring. Did no one miss him? He curls up into a little ball, and and thinks. He thinks of the other car companions on the ship, he thinks of how he does so love trying to sneak into the Arboretum to find catnip. He thinks of Spock... Of laying in his lap during his shifts. Of curling into his side as he meditated. Subconsciously, thinking of his best friend, he began to purr.*
*he's stopped in his comforting noise when the creaking of metal makes his fur stand up, and the vent cover is pulled away. Yes! Now was his chance! He hops out of the vent and looks up at his savior, only to see his greatest friend*
*he rubs his face against Spock's legs, but soon decides that's not enough, and, while being very careful not to claw his friend, climbs up to his shoulders, oh so like when they first met. When settled across his shoulders he began to purr again, a deep rumbling through his entire small body, and into Spocks*
