For the various aus where Robin body snatches a canon character (for example Thragg) what would happen if the original body owner was still there? Like just lurking in the back of her head?
I wrote a thing-
You avoid the giant space dandelion-sharkâs lunge not because its humongous teeth will do fuckall to your Grand Regent-grade bod, but because you donât want to risk damaging your tropical shirt. Theyâre hard to come by in this size.
Oh, and because it lets Invincible pounce while the beast is distracted, and send it packing before it can get any closer to Earth.
Itâs good experience for him. Heâs still only a baby Viltrumite, as you enjoy reminding him when his ego gets away from him.
âNot bad, kid,â you say when he looks at you expectantly once youâre both back down in Earthâs atmosphere. You do have a TTD (thought transmission device, to the uninitiated, not to be mixed up with sight transmission device) but you have a very good reason to avoid using that.
One which pipes up the second you finish speaking.
âMust you praise him?â Thragg says with utter disgust, and a heavy dose of resignation. âYour refusal to kill him is an inexcusable lapse in judgement, and will see our people brought to ruin. But to go so far as to-â
âYouâre improving,â you add, and Mark does that thing where he tries not to grin too wide, scratches his cheek, and sort of kicks at the air. Itâs very cute.
âI just, uh, did what you suggested. With the-â Mark throws a loose punch with a âka-pow!â. He quickly winces, and drops his hand. âAnyway it was- it worked. Like you said.â
âIf you continue to progress at this pace, youâll succeed me soon,â you say purely for the surge of impotent rage. Has a metallic tang to it.
âThis boy will never be worthy,â Thragg insists, which is a step above once again trying to convince you to murder Argallâs bloodline.
It was a real doozy when he found out thanks to being able to overhear a lot of your thoughts, though it was inevitable once you decided to dropkick that plotpoint into play to make use of it yourself. Dude can fucking rage.
Heâs given you plenty of headaches since you transmigrated in, but you canât really resent him for it. The whole bodysnatching is a fucked up situation no matter how much of an asshole the unwilling host is.
Mark grimaces. ââSoonâ as inâŚViltrumite years, right? âCause Iâm really not in a rush. Seriously. And Iâm definitely not ready - Iâd have the job for like, a day, and Iâd be calling you for help.â
Thragg huffs, giving you the impression of him crossing his arms. You mimic the position, since youâre not a total dick. You know itâs soothing for him when his intent matches reality.
âAwareness of his own lack of worth means little,â Thragg says, forever the critic. âDid I cower from the responsibility placed upon me? No. I saw what had to be done, and did not falter.â
And you took him not just over the finish line, but onto another racetrack entirely. One that doesnât see its competitors shot in the head if they donât win by a landslide.
âYour methods are crude and chaotic,â he says, but his voice - the mental standoff youâre both stuck in - loses its edge. âBut I won't deny our people nowâŚhave a future I could not foresee.â
Yeah, you did throw a wildcard in there with an early Earth re-location (though not much earlier), allying with the GDA, and telling Mark Grayson his specific heritage. And what it could mean for the future of the Viltrum Empire, if he was willing to work with you.
It seemed a fun route to go, of the available options. Youâre liking it so far. You get to pilot this OP maniac around and do whatever the fuck you want, within limits you set for yourself rather than have imposed on you. Itâs a good time for all, and plenty distracting.
A sigh you feel against the backs of your molars. âYour motivations remain as juvenile as ever.â
âI donât plan to hand over the reins any time soon,â you reassure them both before the pause can drag too long. One of the major challenges of a voice in you head, but so far, no oneâs called you out.
Your LARP-ing skills are unbeatable.
Or you could say theyâre-
âDo not.â
âInvincible,â you say, and Markâs posture shifts to a more attentive one at the tone. âYou will never be âreadyâ. No one can be when the future is never guaranteed, and our past offers little answer as to the direction we should take. We simply make do with that which survives, and learn from our mistakes. I survived. Viltrum survived. And now on Earth, we become more than our predecessors ever could have imagined for us.â
You glide closer, and grasp Markâs shoulder. âYou embody that change. But it remains my duty to ensure we donât lose all we once were, and can still be.â
You smile, and feel it sit entirely differently on this face. If someone knew the you of before, and saw you now, would they feel even the slightest sting of recognition?
âAn advantage of our kind is we don't need to be hasty. Youâll have your human life, as promised. All our people will.â
And wonât it be a real showstopper, discovering what happens next?

I find it hilarious that Robin can and will seduce her way through the galaxy in the name of self-preservation (and the sake of getting it on with the hottest people ever). Somewhere out there is a Robin who is Thraggâs wife/mate that drops his ass for Mark almost instantly and cucks that poor Grand Regent.
Side note, that RobConquest? So like, would that end in a complicated messy love triangle or, and hear me out, a poly relationship involving Robin, Conquest and Mark (possibly Eve since sheâs probs with Mark like canon)?
Robin's truly a freak of nature because she often has just enough self-preservation to feel the urge to make some form of attempt at saving/improving her life...but not enough to keep from expressing it in the most batshit way possible. Made worse when she legit finds the threat involved attractive, and has little concept of shame.
Lmao Thragg's wife Robin lounging on the throne beside his (because of course she has a throne by then, who do you think she is), chin on her palm and visibly bored, but perks up when Earth/Mark get mentioned.
Robins are fully capable of attachment to other people and can somewhat stabilise through that, depending on circumstances, but she'll usually have at least some draw to Mark (just not necessarily romantic interest). Also, it's funny.
For that snippet AU, some shade of poly is also the funniest option, so you can guess where I'd likely veer xD Conquest over the course of one (1) chat going from ready to destroy Earth, to 'I believe I understand your affinity for these creatures' while heart eyes at Robin.
First time in his life that someone has expressed interest in him, combo'd with awe over his accomplishments but also- his thoughts and opinions? And then also keeps complimenting him? Appearance included?
"So uh, okay, maybe I lied about Invincible taking over Earth. But I did really want to chat with you. Would you...be open to sticking around on Earth?" oh shit there's no way he'll go for this. goodbye cruel world-
"I will consider it." Ten more minutes of conversation pass, and it's turned into Conquest therapy hour with Robin both fascinated and sympathetic, and it's decided, he's staying.
"You deserve to be loved and appreciated for who you are. Say it with me, dude."
"I...deserve to be loved and appreciated for who I am."
"Good boy."
????...â¤ď¸
I have no idea how RobMark would happen in this crazy timeline. Maybe he takes it on himself to keep a close watch on Conquest, which means Robin-exposure, and we know how that tends to go.
Robin meanwhile is very confused about why any of this worked even slightly, but it's all going great as far as she's concerned. The lord really is with thee.
Hear me out Robin powerplex actually ends up with Thragg somehow. Maybe after killing that variant he gets invited to the viltrumite war where he's given a space suit and sent on out. He figures he's probably not surviving this one so might as well go out with a bang. He goes for Thragg and actually manages to do some damage. Thragg survives and even manages to keep fighting but he's left with permanent lightning scars across his chest and down his body. Thragg discovers something about himself. When the viltrumites settle on Earth Thragg actually seeks out the only warrior who managed to wound him. When he finds Robin in a prison cell he's so insulted he almost says fuck the whole plan lets destroy this place. But he just breaks him out instead. Thragg can't really chastise Lucan and Kregg and Anissa for going against the plan since he ended up shacking up with a male human he can't breed with after interfering with humanity by using his powers to bust him out of jail and refusing to sleep with anyone else but ya know, its fine.
Bonus points if Mark is actually really jealous because he thought he really bonded with Robin during the war. Like on the ship out from Earth Robin "forgave him" and the two became friends. Then they fought side by side. Then Robin helped him fight conquest. Mark got a lot less fucked up since Robin was there but he still needed to rest on that planet to heal. Robin was by his side taking care of him that whole time. Did that mean nothing to him??
This situation is hilarious (and such a Robin thing to happen. Absurdity really does make up her foundations) so I wrote another small snippet lol
In your defence-
None of this was planned, okay. It just sort ofâŚhappened. Somehow. Youâre still confused on the specifics, because there was a big chunk in the middle where you maybe knocked on a few doors and brought something back with you. But only a sliver, just for the boost needed to make you useful - and unintentionally, sturdier than anticipated.
WhichâŚcame in handy. For sure.
âYouâre here willingly?â Mark still looks completely bewildered. Fair. He did sneak his way onto the warship of his greatest enemy with the idea that youâve been kidnapped (from prison, but it applies) by someone with a justifiable grudge against you, just to stumble across- well.
Câmon. Thereâs a very dramatic throne; are you supposed to not fuck on it? Especially with how good the acoustics are in here.
You shift your weight, but that just makes Thraggâs arm tighten around your waist. Damn, dude, youâre not gonna run off just because an unlikely rescue has shown up. AâŚreally unlikely one? Seriously. What the fuck are you doing, Mark?
âHe is,â Thragg answers for you, the dick.
You roll your eyes and smack the back of your hand against his chest - right where the gnarly lightning scars you left on him are deepest, and most sensitive. Odd, since youâd think theyâd be the opposite, but instead his breath catches and his fingers spasm on your side. Ha.
Must be a freaky side effect of your freaky side effects being involved; your own hands up past your elbows are marked by similar Lichtenberg figures, deep black with traces of the gold that characterises your electricity now.
âI did start out kidnapped,â you clarify, feeling bad for all the effort Mark went to just for this. And the risk he tookâŚChrist, this was a terrible move on his part.
Yeah, you guys could probably be considered friends by the end of the war. Good olâ forced proximity trope at play, and while he was badly injured by Conquest, it wasnât a full coma the entire time - so after the initial âno hard feelings, I was having an ongoing mental breakdown and needed someone to blameâ talk on the ship, it was natural to warm up to each other while he recovered. Markâs an easy guy to like, and youâre not the absolute worst even with your fucked up brain.
But damn, this is the wrong genre for âIâll do anything for my friends!â behaviour. Save that for the love interest, thereâs more leeway there.
âThen I, uhâŚâ How the fuck do you explain being charmed by Thraggâs utter lack of charm?
Dudeâs a mess. Itâs kinda hilarious, since you have all the context on how heâll get worse, but also have to deal with whatâs actually in front of you. Which is a guy so wrapped up in duty and failure that it stripped him of the ability to process a whole new kind of want, left him vulnerable once repression failed, and-
One thing led to another. And another. And another, Christ, you love Viltrumite stamina. Maybe left a few scorch marks on multiple rooms in the process, but itâs a sturdy ship.
You give up on explaining. Offer Mark a shrug and half-smile. âLike I told Cecil, consider it advanced diplomacy. Did he not tell you it was all good?â
You thought he was going to; sending a transmission over was your way of testing how honest Thragg was about your lack of restrictions. Youâve been considering an Earth visit next. Thereâs a lot of shit thatâs due to go down soon, so hey, maybe you were hoping to nip a few issues in the bud now youâre somehow alive. Which remains, fucking wild.
âAll good?â Mark repeats, incredulous. âScott, you canât seriously want to stay here!â
Yeah, you guess this is a pretty odd move for your (partially self-inflicted) tragic backstory and villain origin, huh.
âWhy would he want to leave?â Thragg says with typical Viltrumite pride and entitlement that covers an entire ecosystem of insecurities and constant comparison. His brief glance at you really tells on him; a check that you arenât going to contradict him. Cute. âI provide everything he needs, and freed him from unjust imprisonment on your planet. If this is how you treat your greatest warriors, how can you demand their loyalty?â
âIt was temporary,â Mark says quickly, his scowl slipping when he looks back to you. âIt was. I wouldnât have left you in there.â
âSure,â you say, because yeah, you know?
Obviously Cecil wouldâve gotten you out when youâve proven too useful. You figured this was a mix of the bureaucracy all must bow to in order to keep up the facade of civility, and a little reminder of your place despite the heights of the war. Few more weeks, and you wouldâve been out.
Hell, the GDA mightâve just been sorting out some form of shock collar or counter-measure that would work on you, now you have a couple ways to get around simply being restrained. Mark helped you out with practising that, actually.
He really is too good a guy. Even the prickles of another manâs experiences and resentments are doused by the new memories youâve piled onto the bonfire.
