NEW DANGANRONPA V3 OFFICIAL BLOG: DAY 14
Today we continue our character introductions with our dear Super Adult Level Rookie HiroTO Suzuki. He seems pretty hyped for this one. In Suzuki’s own words “today we will introduce 3 people...........2 people and 1 machine: Kokichi Ouma, Ki-bo and Gonta Gokuhara”. Bad robot discrimination, Suzuki. Shame on you.
Super High School Level Supreme Leader: Kokichi Ouma (seiyuu: Hiro Shimono)
Summed up in one word: liar. Not much in the sense he wants to throw everyone into confusion or that just spouts the first random bullshit that comes to his mind, it’s that he feels freedom to do whatever he wants whenever he wants. Judging from Ouma’s age and personality, Suzuki seems pretty convinced that his Supreme Leader talent is a lie, but he has an innocence that makes him hard to hate.
For his voice, they chose Hiro Shimono, a seiyuu that usually gets to play popular characters with lots of fangirls. Suzuki believes Shimono’s voice acting will put Ouma in the same enviable position as his other characters.
Super High School Level Robot: Ki-bo (seiyuu: Tetsuya Kakihara)
“His very existance is already Super High School Level. Imagine it. If Ki-bo were studying in your class, wouldn’t that be Super High School Level?”
Not really, Suzuki. I’m rather unimpressed by a SHSL who won his title by default. But this post is not supposed to be about my opinions, so moving on.
Ki-bo is described as that typical overly serious/dedicated kid who is easy to bully. His main personality quirks is getting heated up against robot discramination and not being able to read between the lines or understand sarcasm.
His seiyuu is Tetsuya Kakihara, a VA with a vast experience with types of characters, from the most hot blooded to the most comical. Suzuki thinks Kakihara really nailed the part of sounding robotic. He also comments that the casting joke here is that Tetsuya Kakihara most famous role is a robot pilot, but now he is finally the robot itself.
Super High School Level Entomologist: Gonta Gokuhara (seiyuu: Shunsuke Takeuchi)
A kind-hearted boy who aims to be a gentleman. His backstory of getting lost in the forest and being raised by wolves would put Tar-chan to shame. Gonta is normally gentle and acts gentlemanly torwards everyone, but when the subject becomes insects, he... (Suzuki chose not finish this sentence because the Assistant Producer Saitou is afraid of bugs, and by consequence, afraid of Gonta).
His seiyuu is the newcomer Shunsuke Takeuchi, who has a low tone voice not fitting his age. There’s kind of a minor casting gag there because Gonta is the youngest male character in the game. Suzuki really liked talking to Takeuchi during the game’s development because Suzuki dreams of becoming a game producer and Takeuchi were already a producer before him, so he is kind of a role model.
To finish it off, Suzuki reminds us that the demo is already out, so play it meet the characters he just introduced here.
