"Well, hello there, gorgeous. Tell me... do ya believe in love at first sight?"

Aslo Gergin [he/him, dom] - Aslo is introduced shortly after you arrive in the city of Sentari and finally register with the Dungeoneer Guild. Aslo is from the Eastern mountains, known for their paganistic ways and excellent alpaca wool. He's in town because he wants to make money to send home, but he keeps getting sidetracked by bars, ill-fated loves, and the fact that no one invites him to join their party whenever he finally does show up to a casting call. He usually gets the excuse of "we don't think you'll be a good fit." It has nothing to do with him showing up hungover, or drunk, or because he's 'loud' and 'takes up a lot of space'. Probably.

Aslo is gregarious to the extreme. He loves to be around people and is difficult to offend, and even if he does get offended, he forgets and forgives quickly and easily. Besides helping out his family back in his ancestral homeland, Aslo's goal in life is to find his soulmate, which some people think is incongruous to his large, rugged appearance. If he can't have that, then at the very least he wants to be surrounded by people who appreciate him for the big nut that he is. And if he can't even have that, then who knows what he's capable of...

Appearance - Standing at 6’6”/199cm, Aslo is one of the tallest people roaming around Sentari, although his stature is not all that uncommon where he's from. He has short black hair that he's continuously pushing out of his light blue eyes, and usually has stubble or short beard. He has an olive complexion that both tans and lightens quickly depending on how much outdoor exposure he's had recently. One of his most defining features is his nose, which is large and slightly hooked. He would say that his most impressive feature is his scar collection.

Combat - Aslo is a mage who focuses almost exclusively on buffs. He's a frontline fighter and uses a broadsword that's been enchanted and set with a large rainbow quartz to serve as his staff conduit. While his damage output isn't amazing, his ability to take a hit and keep swinging is phenomenal, if not a little neurotic.

Romance - Aslo is a chaser, but respects boundaries and will immediately stop pursuing mc if told no. He's a believer in love at first sight, the instant connection, and blurting out "I love you" after a day of knowing someone. He can take things at a moderate pace if he's given enough promise that all his partner needs is quality time to know him better first, but he gets anxious and jealous fast if he's not reassured often.

AURORA

Your second oldest friend (because the first one is your favourite breakfast cereal). You have known Aurora ever since you can remember. In fact, your first memory is her extending an arm out to help you.

She is impatient, but that is a part of her charm. Aurora woke up on the free fall ride. She is deathly afraid of heights and would never go on that ride. She remembers falling...but she doesn't recall from where. She only realized that she was on the ride after her fall was over. You aren't sure about why or how you both ended up in this circus but what you are sure about is the fact that Aurora will have your back all the time and she will always have you to fall back on.

With a million dollar smile, soft hands and a charming personality that disarms anyone within a foot radius, Aurora is indelible.

"How could I ever forget you?"

PAX

Pax has never really been the one in the spotlight. They mostly keep to themselves, but they won't shy away from taking action when it's necessary. They can be seen riding their motorbike off into the sunset after a tiresome day.

Pax doesn't know why they ended up on the ferris wheel of Elysium. The ferris wheel is their favourite ride since early childhood but they haven't ridden one in years. Just like you, they don't remember ever getting on the ride.Pax doesn't enjoy the puzzles of Elysium even though he is really good at solving them.

Pax may seem like he doesn't care, but in reality, he is afraid of caring too much. When you finally take a peak inside his heart, you'll find that it's not all stone.

"Uh, yea...that's not how it works. Here, let me show you how to do it."

VIOLET

Sweet, sweet Vi. She is incredibly logical and calculating but deep inside, she's a free spirit. Her mind and her heart are at constant odds with each other.

Violet always thinks one step ahead. She doesn't like doing things without a plan. If she can't envision the future, she doesn't go along with a course of action. She loves to let loose at times and will always find a way to lift up your spirits.

Vi won't ever ask for help, not even if her life depended on it. She believes that she is capable enough on her own to solve every single problem that life throws her way but more than that, she does not want to be a burden. But you know when she is at her limits and you can help her realize that it is okay to take a step back.

"We might just be trapped in here but I don't mind it. After all, it is kind of nice being alone with you."

NICK

Nick has a talent for getting himself in and out of trouble. He is the most carefree person you have ever come across. Ever the curious cat, Nick just can't resist exploring things he shouldn't.

He is adventurous and will never pass on an opportunity to try something new. You can be anything around him, just don't be boring. Nick is the type of person who loves speed, pushing themselves to the edge and adrenaline. For him life is nothing but a smooth highway he wants to ride aimlessly on.

When things go south, he does not lose hope. He knows that there is always a way out. Nick will never abandon anyone, no matter what. He is clumsy, but he is sure he can count on you to catch him.

"Sorry for dragging you down here with me. Well, at least we have something to do now don't we?"

"Sorry, I'm not very good at this... Making friends, I mean."

Jem Miye [He/Him, Sub, Asexual (sex-favorable)] - Jem is one of the first characters you meet after leaving the parish. After being brought into the fold at the age of thirteen, he discovered his uncanny healing ability. From physical wounds, to illnesses, to animals, Jem's always pushed himself to learn as much as possible to earn his place among the Durth clergy. However, his life took a turn when he was chosen by the God of the Moon, Melekoth, and given a Divine Task that sends him far from the home he so desperately wanted to fit into.

He's awkward around people, since he's insecure about his feminine looks, always worried that he gives off a certain impression before he can ever say a word. But Jem does his best to be friendly and accommodating. Very much a people pleaser. However, underneath the awkward charm is someone who will do anything to hold the higher moral ground.

Appearance - Standing at 5'8"/173cm, Jem has shoulder length, sandy brown hair that he keeps half up and half down. He has large, round glasses that cover half his face, though they tend to slip down his nose and obscure his dark blue eyes. Has a small mole on the right corner of his mouth.

Combat - Jem is the quintessential healer. When he's not working his magic, he does well in the backlines to provide verbal support. If he must, he might hit something with his staff, but he'd rather not. If mc is also a healer, he will take a greater role in buffing than healing. No matter what, Jem will always be in your party!

Romance - Jem's romance is slower, softer. He needs to be built up so he can be vulnerable with you. He's a big believer in destiny and fate and thinks that your meeting and love is something foretold. Alternatively, you and Jem can be on not-so-great terms that leads from rivalry/dislike and into compassionate understanding and empathy. His love languages are words of affirmation and gift giving.

Romance Tropes - slow burn, emotional connection first, possible: fated lovers, possible: lite rivals/forced proximity, communication is sexy.

Linzel Syrat - [he/they, vers] You meet Linzel in the town of Greenharbor where he is convinced to escort mc and Jem to Sentari in order to register with the Dungeoneer Guild. He's originally from the deciduous forests of Baahn to the South of Sentari, where he comes from a prestigious line of Rangers and Hunters. He left it all behind after tragedy, soon making his way to Sentari where he quickly made a name for himself through his talent with a bow, his charm for monsters, and his knack for surviving when no one else does.

Linzel comes off as aloof at best and flippant at worst. He cares about two things: money and his monster familiar, Fancy (selectable between a giant rat, bat, or spider). There are times that he feels... other. Animal. He'll admit that life sometimes feels distorted and that he doesn't feel attached to either his body or the world in general. So far he hasn't been able to find something to tether him...

Appearance - Standing at 5'6"/168cm, Linzel has brown skin, and thick, straight black hair that reaches his waist. At the nape of his neck is a strip of orange hair where he attempted to dye it, but failed. He likes the failure result, however, so keeps it. His eyes are a light brown that shine like polished copper in the sunlight, giving him a wolfish appearance.

Combat - Linzel falls into the DPS category as a mid-range fighter. He carries a short bow and is able to utilize his familiar in combat. What his bow lacks in sheer penetration power, Linzel makes up for by use of tinctures and poisons on his arrowheads. If mc is a backline fighter or healer, he will keep them covered. If he likes them, he'll even do it without complaining!

Romance - Linzel isn't the type to get close to people emotionally. Sex is just two bodies relieving stress and fulfilling an animal need for contact. There is something about mc that Linzel finds to be alluring. Perhaps it's the pureness of them, the genuine anger, fear, sadness, excitement that they feel, the stillness of their stoicism, the energy of their socialite ways. There are several possibilities; in the end, he is but a moth to mc's flame.

Maymie Fox - [she/her, dom] A sprightly and sarcastic woman who introduces MC to their first real combat experience outside of the parish, Maymie thrives off challenges and grasping life by the metaphorical dragon horns. As an ex-street rat, she's one to always sniff out opportunities to make money, even if they're morally gray or sometimes downright crimes. In the end, if it benefits her and hers and doesn't hurt any children, then it's fair game.

Maymie is very outspoken about her feelings and beliefs and has no problem giving anyone sass when she thinks they deserve it. She has a soft spot for people that are scrupulous with their money or are overall suspicious of others, since it makes her feel like she isn't alone in a world that tells people to be virtuous — or else.

Appearance - Standing at 5'1"/156cm, Maymie draws attention to herself with bright red hair that's cut short in the back and long in the front, which makes her unusual purple eyes all the more obvious. Unlike many casting-type heroes who prefer wearing loose robes, Maymie wears well-fitted leathers and bright tunics with a chainmail undervest.

Combat - Maymie is a mage attuned and trained in lightning and water magic, although she is a close to mid-range fighter. She likes to get scrappy with her daggers, which are inlaid with purple sapphires to channel her mana, but she's not afraid to use them as throwing missiles or call down a lightning storm or drown enemies in a tsunami if the situation calls for it. If MC is also a mage, she likes to try and synergize fun magical combinations to wreak havoc on the battlefield.

Romance - Maymie loves to be in charge. If there's obvious attraction and MC doesn't ask her out first, she'll be the one to break the ice, no nonsense. Maymie can be protective and jealous, although she tries not to be overbearing, always worried that she will chase away those closest to her by being too much. In the middle of the nights she tends to get sentimental, hoping for MC to hold her to chase away the past that plagues her.

"Do you hear that? That's the sound of a love-song being written. Whose? I suppose we'll find out..."

Sweets - [they/them, vers] A crafty and curious bard with a gittern, you meet Sweets shortly after registering with the Dungeoneer guild. There's rumors going around about a hero party with two Disciples, which is unusual at best, portending at worst. They want to know everything; who are you? where did you come from? and most importantly, will you be seen in public with them? Sometimes having names in their pocket pays far more than coin ever could...

At first, Sweets can come off as a flippant gossip, but they're a person of many hats, easily changing their temperament and tone to match whoever they're with. Life in Sentari is hard for a bard; between the amount of competition, the condescension of the prim priests of Myrtle, the lack of safe places to sleep, it's not uncommon that many bards travel for both coin and safety... or they learn other, more insidious talents...

Appearance - Standing at 5'5"/165cm, Sweets favors billowing clothes with the occasional interesting cut out (keyhole blouses, tear-drop windows over their thighs), that obfuscate both their body build and possible pockets. They have dark skin, and deep, forest green eyes. More often than not, Sweets will have changed their hair style whenever MC sees them. They're very fashion forward and can be seen with their hair in cornrows, twists, weaves made from dyed Forest Spider silk, and even shaved. They'll comment on how a new hairstyle can confuse people into thinking they're a completely different person, with one simple change.

Combat - Sweets doesn't do dungeons, but they're pretty handy with a stiletto dagger for some of the more unsavory situations they might find themselves in. Sentari isn't as safe as many people like to assume.

Romance - Sweets' romance takes place in Sentari and between dungeons. They consider each moment together precious and focus entirely on their partner whenever they're in town. While Sweets will generally see other people while MC is away, they will agree to monogamy if they're down bad enough and it's something MC needs in a relationship. Their love languages are gift giving/receiving and physical touch.

Raena - [she/her, vers] Raena is the first RO that you meet. She is MC's childhood friend either by choice or simply forced proximity and lack of other possible companions. She views her childhood as idyllic and has a hard time conceptualizing any different kind of life or why an MC might be dissatisfied with their upbringing. Although she is left behind at first, Raena reappears in Sentari, Yoren's bow over her shoulder, and in search of MC. Depending on your relationship with her, this can be a joyous and romantic moment or an explosive fight.

Raena is a conflicting mixture of over confident and naive. She sees the world as her oyster but prefers the small slice of peace she had back in the parish. But when it comes to decision making, she always defers to the MC, whether it's because she's eager to please or conditioned towards it, depends on their relationship. Over time she might be able to take the reigns of fate into her own two hands...

Appearance - Standing at 5'7"/170cm, Raena has long, golden curls that she usually keeps in a messy bun - functionality is her only concern. Having spent every day outdoors practicing her archery, Raena is tanned, with a very light dusting of freckles on the bridge of her nose, which makes her bright green eyes seem all the more piercing. Because of her constant training with a longbow, she does have more muscled shoulders and arms than many women, which she tends feels insecure about.

Combat - Raena is a master of the longbow. Not only can she snipe from a distance, but the sheer power behind her pulls allows her to pierce even some of the toughest monster hides. While she is relatively inexperienced in combat, she makes up for it with great battle intuition and second-hand stories from Armsmaster Yoren.

Romance - Raena's romance can be a whirlwind that has both you and your friends flustered. She's intense and passionate, if not a little naive, but she's more than willing to bend over backwards for the MC in all things - unhealthily so. She believes that if MC is happy, then so is she, although it takes her quite some time to figure out that isn't necessarily true and that a conversation is two people talking, not one person talking while the other nods along.

Vana Peacebearer [she/her, sub] - Vana can either be one of the first characters you meet after leaving the parish, or an entirely missable experience until later in Chapter 1. Coming from a clerical family that follows the God of Storms and Fair-weather, Wuldren, Vana's spent her entire life waiting to be ordained by the Gods. In order to gain their favor, she has been making her way across Vert, training with her lance and tower shield, seeking Disciples in order to help them complete their heavenly tasks, which is how she finds you and willingly joins your party if asked.

Vana is stoic around new people and warms up slowly. However, she has no problem breaking her facade when she finds opportunity for teasing or sly remarks. She can hold onto running jokes until the day she dies if she wants. Although Vana comes across as stubborn and confident, she has a small kernel of doubt that sometimes finds her at night, niggling into her thoughts...

Appearance - Standing at 5'9"/176cm, Vana has light blonde hair that she likes to braid into a crown, although she will claim it's for practical purposes when wearing a helmet. She has dark, nearly black eyes that contrast with her pale features. One of her most defining features is her square jaw and high cheekbones, which gives her an imperial look, somehow making her silences seem all the more pointed as she stares down her nose at whoever has her attention.

Combat - Vana falls under the tank category. She will be on the frontlines, taking the brunt of the damage so other members can focus on inducing damage. If mc is also a frontline warrior, she will follow them doggedly into battle to make sure they don't bite off more than they can chew.

Romance - Romance is something Vana has never really thought about before - at least not until you showed up. Intimacy is something that makes her feel insecure, so she will take cues and direction from you - within reason. Vana craves acceptance in a world where she feels like she has no real role. Her romance is all about trust and loyalty. Vana's love language is acts of service with a side of quality time.
