In the myth, narcissus rejected the nymph echo, dooming himself to a fate of falling in love with his own reflection. in my interpretation, naru is both narcissus and echo. he cherishes his brother, his reflection, first and foremost but once he is faced with the matter of loveâlove for oneself or love for anotherâthis creates a dilemma. he believes he must let go of gene before giving in to love.
Left at a standstill, naru has no choice but to question himself constantly, echoing his own thoughts to make sense out of everything. the accumulation of doubt and heartache leaves him with an incurable illnessâthe hanahaki disease.

will you have more stocks of the stammi vicino socks? ;ă ; i am in GREAT. NEED.
HI! aaa thank you for your interest! ;AA; <3 Iâll be doing inventory after yoicon and put up leftover stock! Maybe after Iâve sent out all the preorders for the first batch I can reopen preorders for a second batch if thereâs still interest.
I went with Luellaâs perspective! I thought it would be fun to look through her eyes for once. Fair warning: the main theme of this piece is astrology, and if your not familiar with that, Iâve included a short explanation below. (Also, I was inspired by the fact that my twin brothers are Virgos. And do you know who else are Virgos??)Â
sun sign: generally represents an individualâs basic nature and their constant personality traitsÂ
moon sign: describes an individualâs inner self; rules over oneâs emotional and more intimate sideÂ
rising/ascendant sign: the outer self; the mask one shows to other peopleÂ
 If you would like to know more, I suggest going to cafe-astrology! And if your curious about your own signs, you can also calculate your signs there~Â
 Hope you enjoy~Â

 [The Difference of a Minute]Â
I. Moon SignsÂ
It was a little known fact that Luella was interested in astrology. And by interested, she actually means sheâs obsessed with it. Â
It all started in college, and as an arts major, it was inevitable that she would be exposed to ideologies previously out of her reach as a child coddled by the vast reach of the sciences. Astrology was one field that she was raised to scoff at, as the metaphysical was not enough grounds to build evidence upon. Another notion she was discouraged to pursue was parapsychology, since ghosts and other paranormal and supernatural phenomena simply could not be real. (Religion is still a relevant path for her to study however, she was told.)Â Â
It goes to say, then, that she first fell in love because of the fact that he would be pursuing parapsychology for his graduate studies. What a lunatic, her first thought was after he introduced himself in a party they both attended during their final undergraduate year. Thus, she was set on marrying the man. It was a horrible decision, economically speaking. But Luella would be glad to support him and their soon-to-be family if it meant the rest of her life would at the very least be interesting.Â
She continued to be an active enthusiast, and while she once contemplated to pursue a career as a full-time astrologist, she decided after marrying a parapsychologist that a 9-5 job would be more lucrative.Â
She was a Capricorn sun, Virgo moon, Capricorn rising. A workaholic, in other words, but at least sheâs self aware. Martinâs an Aquarius sun, Pisces moon, Aries rising. Nothing to say other than he was a mess of a man, but at least heâs affectionate. Â
What puts her on a loop was how Noll and Gene had completely different natal charts despite being born just a minute apart. Itâs entirely accurate to say that only thing they shared in common were their faces, and from her first interaction with them, she had a clear premonition. They would be entirely  worse once they become teenagers. And yet, she knew sheâd love them still.Â
âHello there, my name is Luella,â she said in a hushed voice, as if she was scared that the orphanageâs walls would crumble at a pitch higher than a whisper. âIâm your new mum. I hope we can get along well.âÂ
Gene ran into her arms and embraced her with as much strength as he could. âWill you really?âÂ
âYes, of course.â Of course. A Leo moon.Â
And Noll, the Aquarius, snatched Geneâs arms and dragged him away. To the other room, without a word said.Â
Hi, @rmnitb! Iâm your ghostly giver! XD And I gotta say thanks for the prompt! This was a ton of fun to write and I seriously hope it comes up to par for you! *^_^* Enjoy your favorite bassist monk!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The day was fresh and young. Â With the sun barely peeking out over the horizon and the air so crisp and clean, one might venture to call the scene picturesque. Serene. Â Beautiful.
That one person would not be Houshou Takigawa.
The man had climbed through the ages, kicking each year away stubbornly and denying his bodyâs need for sleep until he could no longer keep up the façade.  When his mind finally agreed with the reality that his body required more sleep in order to be productive, his life had gotten a great deal easier. Unfortunately, the rest of the band hadnât gotten the memo yet.
âI need an iced coffeeâŚâ the man grumbled as he followed the far-too-awake leader of the group.
âYou need to wake up on time,â replied Yuki as she adjusted her sunglasses.  He didnât see why she needed them, she was already wide awake.  âSeriously, didnât you have to wake up early and fight bears or something when you were on the mountain?â
Houshou sighed. Â âIâve told you:Â monks donât fight bears and I donât have to do early morning meditations anymore. Â Let me have my sleep.â
Yuki hummed thoughtfully and Houshou wished that whatever source she got her âfighting bearsâ idea from would burn.  Burn in the early morning light. It would be better for it to suffer like he was suffering.
âHow early did you have to wake up for those meditations?â Yukiâs voice pulled him to the present. Â The far-too-early present.Â
âToo early.â
âTo ask or you woke up too early on the mountain?â
âYes.â
Yukiâs response was drowned out by the early morning traffic.  Houshou glanced blearily at the passing cars. At least they werenât honking yet.
Before any bad luck could befall him for his observation, Yuki and Houshou turned right and into an alleyway that had blessed little light.  It wasnât long before they were ushering themselves in through a side door and greeted by their resident guitarist. He sat on the stage, calmly strumming as he waited.
âKyorin!â Â Yukiâs greeting was too loud. Â âWhereâs Umito?â
âHe said heâd be right back.â Â
Houshou sighed quietly, mourning the loss of extra sleep.  But he was awake now, so he supposed he would just have to wait with everyone for Umito to return.  He glanced over at Yuki, who seemed annoyed but unsurprised. Their drummer often got in trouble for being too late or showing up too early before popping off somewhere and showing up late anyways.
 âHonestly.  Itâs like he doesnât take rehearsal seriously.â
Houshou and Kyorin exchanged a look. Â They both knew this particular gripe by heart. Â Fortunately, both were spared from any further mutterings about drummers who slacked off when the front door burst open.
âEveryone!â
Three heads turned towards the front door, where they found two faces. Â Umito grinned proudly as he silently showcased his prize, coffees for everyone, while standing behind Naoki, who had a rather worrisome expression of unbridled glee on his face. Â Houshou wondered what their manager had in store for them this time.
âFirst off, everyone performed really well in that last concert.  Naara, those vocals were on-point. Norio, you could be a bit louder with the bass.  Naka, Namae, perfect volume, but make sure youâre together.â Houshou made a mental note to speak with their sound director about the sound issue.  âNow then, weâve been working on our old hits and theyâre fine, but audiences can get them all on CD now. Those sales are through the roof, but concert attendance has been going down.â
âWeâre not doing another street campaign, are we?â asked Kyorin, an air of hesitant wariness about him.  Houshou shuddered. The last time they had done that, heâd been assaulted by so many people. So many. Naoki laughed.
âNo, no. Â Even better. Â Youâre going to release a new song!â
Four faces stared blankly at their expectant manager.  He seemed to have no idea what he was asking of them as he merely grinned any potential issues away.  âItâs perfect! A song we donât release on CD to encourage concert attendance!â
Houshou looked at his bandmates.  Umitoâs grip on the coffee had gone slack.  Kyorinâs grip had tightened on his guitar. Yuki was staring directly at Naoki, her mind already at work.  As expected.Â
âHow long do we have?â
âWe want this done by the next concert.â
Houshou slipped.  Umito actually spilled a little bit of the coffee.  âButâŚÂ Thatâs tonight!â
âExactly! Â Weâve given you over 8 hours of preparation,â said Naoki, looking rather pleased with himself. Â âIâve heard the best songs are composed in a less amount of time, but we thought weâd give you time to practice.â
Houshou bit back the remark that bubbled to the surface.  There were a lot of people who went into making these executive decisions.  Their manager was just the messenger for these people. A far too excited messenger.
âWell, Iâve got to get back.â Â Naoki looked at each of them in turn. Â âGood luck!â
With that, the man walked past Ubito and closed the door.  Houshou sighed. Their fates were sealed. Might as well get started.  He glanced at Ubito.
âHey, Ubito?â
âYeah?â
âPlease tell me one of those coffees is iced.â
âŚ/âŚ/âŚ/
They had been at this for two hours. Â They had practiced all their other songs, decided that the new one would be a special encore, whatever it was, and were staying out of the way of the stage crew as they worked on their new song. Â All of that had only taken an hour.
The quiet was a bit unnerving. Â Houshou had started tapping his foot three minutes ago.
âIâm stuck!â complained Kyorin. Â âI have almost no inspiration!â
âAlmost?â wheedled Yuki, eyeing him suspiciously. Â Kyorin looked back at Yuki before replying in a deadpan voice.
âTotoro to-to-ro! Â Totoro Toââ
Kyorin was interrupted by a pillow to the face. Â Ubito didnât even bother trying to look innocent. Â âCopyright.â
Houshou didnât know much about whatever they were talking about.  Instead, he was trying to scrounge up some inspiration himself. He knew each of them had the musical talent to string something together that would sound nice, but making it consistent?  They needed some sort of plan.
âHoushou.â Â The bassist looked up at Yuki, who was staring at him with intent eyes. Â âYou said earlier that you had to wake up too early for meditations, right?â
The man rose an eyebrow.  âYou wanna write a rock song on meditating?  Iâm not against it, but it seems a littleâŚâ
âI donât wanna do a song on meditating,â complained Ubito.  Suddenly, he sat up straight. A giant grin was on his face as his eyes pleaded with Houshou.  âLetâs do one on fighting bears! Thatâs much more exciting!â
âWhere did you guys even get the idea that monks fight bears?â The irritation swept through his system for a moment before letting itself out.
âStill, maybe we can use something like that,â said Kyorin, sounding the most hopeful since their manager had made his big announcement. Â âIs there anything about monk life thatâs rock-worthy?â
Houshou hummed.  Sure, there were lots of things they could make exciting.  Other rock groups did it to stuff like the Bible all the time.  âThe problem is that they wouldnât be able to hear any of it. No one might be able to identify with monk life.â
âWhat, do they think weâre not good enough for them?â asked Ubito indignantly. Â Houshou shook his head.
âNah. Â Musicâs just distracting. Â They donât let any of it up there at all. Â Itâs why I left.â
Ubito continued to grumble about the unfairness of it all, but Houshou paid him little mind.  Instead, he focused on Yuki, who was beginning to bear a devious smirk. He knew that expression when he saw it.  Kyorin saw it, too.
âYouâve got an idea?â
She looked at her band members, her confidence shining through. Â Oh, she had an idea all right.
âŚ/âŚ/âŚ/
Thread Topic: Â Secret Concert Song
NFan1987: Â omigosh, i <<33 that new song!
Naaralover74: Â âwhy am I not good enough for you?â?? Â who else relates??
Jamingw/Naka: Â So relatable!! Why wonât he notice me???
âŚ/âŚ/âŚ/
The band scanned through yet another fan forum, watching the chaos unfold in the threads. Â The reaction to the night previous was strong and still going, which meant they would probably get a visit from a visibly pleased Naoki any moment now. Â For now, though, they amused themselves with the comments.
âHow many of them do you think are going to figure out that itâs about monks not being able to listen to music?â asked Yuki. Â Her voice was a mixture of amusement and pride.
âI donât think anyone will. Â Theyâre all talking about crushes and upperclassmen that wonât notice them.â Â Houshou was just glad theyâd managed to get something to paper and that the audience seemed to like it.
âWell, at least we managed to get something out there,â said Kyorin. Â The relief in his voice was something Houshou could relate to.
âYeah, this calls for a celebration!â  Classic Ubito. âHoushou, think youâll teach us how to fight bears now?â
Moment shattered. Â The bassist huffed. Â âWe do not fight bears.â
âOh, come on. Â Please??â
He was going to burn whatever it was that gave them that idea.
a day in the life of yasuhara osamu, SPR's self-proclaimed daddy
notes: i am. So Very Sorry that this is the exact opposite of what you requested, Coriana. i meant to give you this (monstrously long) au oneshot iâve been planning forever but⌠i hope you like this one anyway? (iâm crying inside, can you tell)
*heyyy listen to Oikawaâs Theme from the Haikyuu OST while reading this btw
**fair warning before you startâ yas yas Yasu
Bang goes the front door as it slams open, a weak chime accompanying it. Then enters SPRâs resident troublemaker, as everyone else has dubbed himâor famed young detective, as he likes to call himselfânot that any of the officeâs occupants realizes who it was anyway. Arms full with a stack of boxes, the college studentâs (ridiculously handsome) face was buried underneath the heavy bulk.
âHi kiddies! The great Yasuhara has come to rescue you all!â he exclaims, voice muffled slightly. Then, he turns down his voice and whispers, âI heard from Bousan andâis it really true? Has the day finally come? Have any of you actually confirmed it?â
John, his tender soul, is the first (the only one, actually) who stands up from his seat and comes forward to take half of the boxes in Yasuharaâs arms. Yasuhara gives him a bright, sincere for once, smile. This one is his favorite son.
âWhat took you so long?â Takigawa asks without looking away from his phone, too distracted to fully acknowledge Yasuharaâs great presence. But Yasuhara lets it slide. He knows what game Takigawaâs playing, and he understands how Pacman deserves undivided attention.
âWhatâs with all the pizza, Yasu?â asks Ayako from her perch, all cozy in that seat of hers. Yasuhara will have to give her a scolding later, but truthfully, a daughter as menacing as Ayako (and whoâs technically older than him) will be hard to reproach. âYou probably shmoozed off that innocent cashier at Dominoâs again, huh? Whatâs his name? I forgot.â
âTakeshi,â Masako supplies nonchalantly, inspecting her nails. âWeâre neighbors. He keeps asking me for your number, by the way. Tell him to quit it or Iâll have about seven ghosts haunt him tonight.â
Yasuhara grins, a dangerous glint appearing in his eyes. He saunters in and sits on the ottoman, setting down the pizza boxes on the coffee table. âOh ⌠Is that jealousy I hear, Masako dearest?â She thinks sheâs being discreet about it, but itâs obvious sheâs pining for that Takeshi boy. Since February, a little birdie, whoâs not very good at keeping secrets (Mai), told him (and everyone else).
âShut the fââ
âAHHH!â
âJohn, what the hââ
âAAAAHHHHH!â
âJohnâs right, children! No swearing in Mommy and Daddyâs house!â Yasuhara intervenes, before Johnâs yelling goes up a notchâheâs done it before and he can do it again. We canât have Mommy go on a rampage on a special day like this. âBut keep it down a bit, huh John? We have to keep this secret,â whispers Yasuhara, pointing to the pizza.
âWhy though?â The lilting voice comes from behind him, and Yasuhara jumps in surprise. With his line of work in the ghost hunting business, youâd think he wonât get scared easy, right? Wrong.
âDammit Mai, I told you not to sneak up on Daddy like that!â Hereâs another child whoâs going to get a scolding.
Mai scowls. âWhy the hellââ Ayako leans forward to cover Johnâs mouthâ âdo you keep calling yourself that?!â
âIt was a special condition Mommy agreed to when I made my first donation as JSPRâs patron,â he explainedâfor the eighteenth time (yes, heâs been keeping count). He doesnât understand why they keep forgetting. âBesides, I know you all like it.â He waggles his eyebrows.
âNO WE DONâT!â Everyone exclaims in unison. Though Yasuhara notices how John stutters.
He rolls his eyes and brushes them off. He can read mindsâhe knows they like it. He turns back to the boxes and arranges them on the table, making sure to set the CapricciosaâMommyâs faveâin the middle. âBe a dear and call Lin for me, Mai. Weâve got some preparing to do before Mommy wakes up,â he says, then as he realizes something he tilts his head slightly to one side. âHe is asleep, right?
"Heâs gonna kill you if he hears you call him that,â Mai warns, trying to sound menacing, though her shoulders shake at the effort to keep her laughter at bay. âAnd yeah. Fell asleep right away when I slipped him chamomile instead of the usual darjeeling.â
âGood job, my daughter. With that, youâre now my second favorite child.â
âIâve always been youâre second favorite!â Mai reminds from across the room, already on her way to fetch Lin.
Ayako clucks her tongue, the sound bringing Yasuharaâs attention back to the remaining three seated here at the reception area. âI still donât know what all this is for this time,â she says. âThis is like, what, the third time youâre celebrating something this month? And I bet itâs gonna be as stupid as dedicating a party to Masakoâs uncleâs frogâs first birthday two months ago.â
âOh Iâm sure youâre just upset you didnât get to meet Froggo the frog that day, Ayako,â Yasuhara sympathizes. Heâs never met Froggo either. âAnd weâre celebrating a much grander event this time.â
âWhat is it?â John asks patiently, albeit hints of curiosity seeps through his tone.
âMommy gotââ
âNaru got a haircut,â a deadpan voice interjects. It was Lin.
âAhh! You stole my thunder!â Yasuhara pouts.
Lin only sighs in return, sitting down beside Masako. Yasuhara notices itâs the farthest seat away from him.
âA haircut. Are you kidding me?â Ayako asks, throwing her hands up in exasperation.
âA trim, really,â Lin says, but it goes through one ear and out the other with Yasu.
âWell Bousan sounded excited about it so I thought it was a cause for celebration,â Yasuhara snickers.
âI sent you a text. How did you manage to pull out âexcitedâ from that?â Takigawa snorts, trying to sound detached. Yasuhara knows betterâthose shifting eyes say it all.
âWell enough chit-chat, kiddies,â Yasuhara says, raising both hands to clap once. âWeâve got lots and lots of preparation before we wake mommy up for his surprise celebration!â
Mai groans. âAm I gonna be the gopher again?â she asks no one in particular, already knowing the answer to her own question. The silence that follows confirms her supicions. âOkay. Fine. What am I supposed to do.â
âFirst,â Yasuhara brings up one finger slowlyâfor suspense. âTurn off the lights.â
Mai sighs heavily, as if the action would take a great deal out of her energy. She does it nonetheless. As darkness envelops them, a hush falls upon the room.
âNow what?â
âWake Mommy up.â
Everyone gaspsâincluding Lin.
âYou know what happened when it was Bousanâs turn last week! Anything but that Daddy!â Mai pleads.
âAlas, the task falls unto you, child. John took the fall for you last time, remember?â
From the other side of the room, John very audibly chokes.
âB-bousan,â Mai utters weakly. âIt was your idea to give him chamomile. Please. You do the honors.â
âGoodbye, everyone,â Takigawa says, the sound of him standing audible from across the table. âSee you all next Monday. Tell me all the details of Maiâs murdeâGAH!â An ungraceful yelp accompanied by the loud thud of Takigawaâs fallâmusic to Yasuharaâs ears. Mai mustâve tripped him on his way to the front door.
Masakoâs soft giggle was the start of it all. Then Lin follows, and now everyoneâs doubled over laughing, trying and failing to catch their breath.
âIâVE SAID IT TIME AND AGAINââ the CEOâs door slams open. âTHIS IS NOT A CAFĂ!â
âOops,â Ayako whispers. âNow youâve done it,â she blames, as if she isnât the one who cackled the loudest just a second ago.
âPsst, Mai,â Yasuhara hissed. âLet there be light!â
Yasuhara hears footsteps approaching them slowly as Mai scampers towards the light switch. One small accident laterâit was inevitable that sheâd trip on something on the wayâthe lights come on, temporarily blinding everyone in the room.
âSurprise~!â Yasuhara croons, arms open to welcome the celebrant, signature shit-eating grin already in place.
Mommy Naru, with crumpled clothes and bags under his eyes, glares hard and cold at all the occupants of the room. But it isnât as intimidating as the usual. Although it masks his new haircutâwhich is the very thing theyâre celebrating right now by the wayâeveryone thought his bedhead made him adorable.
âThis is not a damn cafè,â Naru repeated, the nearly unnoticable pout on his lips making him look more petulant than intimidating. âThereâs one downstairs?? Why do you people insist on loitering here?â
âThe ambiance downstairs just doesnât sit well with me.â John shrugs.
âYeah, and the curtains are abysmal. They make me want to throw up,â says Ayako.
âThereâs one spirit that keeps bothering me there,â Masako adds.
Before Naru could interrupt, Mai chirps in. âThe barista keeps hitting on me, so I canât really hang out downstairs.â
That seems to have shut him up.
Naru closes his eyes, pinching the bridge of his nose. He sighs deeply, just he always does when he scolds them for being noisy. âJust keep it down. Iâm trying to workâbecause this is an office and thatâs what people do here,â he says, though it lacks the usual bite to his usual condescending tone.
âYup. Office is for work,â Takigawa says with his eyes locked on Naruâs bedhead, hiding a smirk behind a hand. John turns around to camouflage his mirth.
âCome now, Mo-Boss,â Yasuhara snickers, catching himself before he makes the mistake. It wouldnât do well to sour Mommyâs mood further. âTodayâs celebration is dedicated to you! We canât have the guest of honor leave right away!â
Naru ignored him.
âWe have Pizza Capriccioso~â
Naru halts in the midst of turning his doorknob. He then slowly closes the door and heads straight back here at the reception area. He sits at his usual seat at the head of the table, crossing his leg and delicately placing his hands on his knee. He does this all while maintaining a stolid expression, plus his bedhead.
â⌠Where is it?â
Using his lips, Yasuhara points to the pizza box in the middle. Mai takes the initiative to open it, and the pizzaâs mouthwatering scent instantly permeates the air around them. About three stomachs grumble right then and there.
But, as everyone reaches for a slice simultaneously, Naru suddenly stands up and walks away. Just ups and leaves. He doesnât even retreat back to his cave. No, he goes straight out the front door.
âUm. What the hell?â
âAh,â Mai says, pointing to the pizza. âYasu, was this Capriccioso customized?â
âYeah, I told Takeshi to remove the olives. Why?â
-:-:-:-:-
âMommy noooooo! Please come back! I made a horrible mistake!!â
