I wondered if the "dead husband with the sad smile" is possibly Jorah Mormont. The show gave me the idea - there is this tender moment when she sends him away to find a remedy for his greyscale: we don't quite know yet what his role is going to be when Dany reaches Westeros, perhaps a certain bond becoming important. Dany finding a cure and saving him, as per the other prophecy part, may make her a bride in not quite the literal way. And he's sad = no love. Thoughts?

Well, Jorah doesn’t have greyscale in the books (or any disease at all, so needs no cure), and the show didn’t have that prophecy (or any spoken prophecy in the House of the Undying), so my thoughts are basically “no”. ;)

Oh I wish! I’m sure I’m quite old enough to have watched this in the 1980s (in fact I think I did).

Dude!! :) It's a coming of age film, so don't watch it with your adult glasses on. If you do, you'll be majorly creeped out. I made that mistake on my first adult rewatch. XD

I’ll try and keep that in mind. I recently rewatched Overboard for the first time since I was about 14 and was pretty grossed out!

I usually leave a review that spells out how unrealistic the Scenario is, even if I enjoy other parts of the fic. I let them know that it should contain serious warnings, in a friendly way. In the very least it alerts other readers.

As a new teacher I was informed by some Year 10s that if you wanted to beat the school filtering service, all you had to do was type in 'Shrek and Donkey' in Google Images and go to Page 23, whereupon you would see a pic of Donkey blowing off Shrek!!

Note to self: Don't let the mini-Rumaans look at ANYTHING without me by their side!

My Kids love the cute kitty photos on tumblr. When they ask for more, I say "Hm, yes, go do something else, I'll call you when I find some more." No way am I gonna let them just stay and wait and WATCH. :(
