Or to put it another way, “Are y’all lost?” Because that’s the most reasonable explanation I can come up with for 400 perfectly lovely, intelligent people from various places around the globe wandering onto this whatever it is of mine. Honestly, I saw that number and actually went through my followers to make sure I hadn’t neglected to delete at least 10 bots or something!

Seriously, my friends, it is quite lovely, if somewhat unbelievable, that this many strangers think something I’ve written at some point was worth hanging around for. It’s even lovelier to realize how many of you I no longer think of as strangers at all and to reflect on the fact that I’ve even met six of you in RL now! Thanks to each and everyone of you for the interest in my little (and not so little) fics, the kind words you’ve sent my way, and the general warm welcome you’ve given an old lady who likes to read books, write stories, see movies, see new places, talk to much about her husband and kids, and occasionally rant about weather or politics. (And who just might have spent too much time thinking about Ned and Catelyn Stark and their children!)

In honor of this milestone, I’ll do a fic meme. It has to be for SHORT fics because I’m way overdue on updating Among the Lions and Vows, Kept and Broken (the next chapters of both of which ARE in progress), so I’ll try this one:

As a new teacher I was informed by some Year 10s that if you wanted to beat the school filtering service, all you had to do was type in 'Shrek and Donkey' in Google Images and go to Page 23, whereupon you would see a pic of Donkey blowing off Shrek!!

Note to self: Don't let the mini-Rumaans look at ANYTHING without me by their side!

My Kids love the cute kitty photos on tumblr. When they ask for more, I say "Hm, yes, go do something else, I'll call you when I find some more." No way am I gonna let them just stay and wait and WATCH. :(

The only thing I would say is that it was good, but you needed a grasp of the history to fully understand what was happening. Mark Rylance was fab as Cromwell. Definitely watch it though - it's a good adaptation of the books for sure!
