if 2000 people were there like you claim, wouldn't they already have the money from the $65 admission fee or w/e. why would they need to ask for $17000 more? and why wouldn't they have all the money for wtnv? i'm sorry but nothing seems to add up money wise and i feel like you are defending them too much. regardless of how much fun you had, all you guys were scammed and you should really sue dashcon tbh. i know you probably won't tho
That hotel was incredibly fancy - we were all freaking out over the TV in the bathroom. The $17000 was the final payment for the hotel, not the first. The money from admission was already going to paying the hotel and the other folks there, so it didn’t just disappear into the ether. It was actually being used.
The admins DID have all the money for WTNV. It was in mostly cash, right in front of them, with the rest on Paypal. The admins were trying to send the rest through Paypal to the WTNV people (and Paypal takes, like, two minutes to send something) but Paypal has been down for, like, two weeks. So the money wasn’t sending and the admins offered instead to go to their local bank, get the money out, and be back in under 20 minutes. The WTNV people said no thank you and walked out on a large room of adoring fans.
I’m defending them because I loved being there and I didn’t want it to end. If you love something, defend it as much as you can.
