The Risen.
So I decided that, since I’m keeping my headcanons about GoTS Xerath, Rammus and Skarner in the dark for now, I’d fill you guys in on a little background I’ve been working on for Risen Fiddlesticks. Enjoy.))

Many know Azir, the last ruling member of Shurima’s royal bloodline, as a kind and benevolent emperor. However, not all were deemed so worthy of the Sun’s blessing during their reign. One man, one of Shurima’s earliest emperors, who ruled long before Azir’s bloodline came to power, held the throne far longer than many of his predecessors. Over the course of his long life, it became apparent that insanity began to grip his mind.
This mad ruler, whose name is now lost to time, soon became frightful of an uprising. In his old age, he became paranoid that his subjects would attempt to usurp him; thus, he turned to fear as an instrument to keep Shurima’s people in-line. Soon enough, he became obsessed with fear, and experimented in new ways to strike terror into the hearts of men. Ironically, this did indeed cause an uprising, and the next in line for the throne was quickly chosen.
However, the corrupted ruler was not finished. Years after being laid to rest, his spirit lingered, hatred for the people of the desert anchoring him to the mortal plain. Eventually, this hatred burned away the last of his sanity, and what was left was a lingering desire for one thing: fear.
The corpse stirred within its ancient tomb, seeking to bring terror to the world, and the world to its knees. Now, this entity solely known as The Risen wields otherworldly powers at its disposal to help fulfill its goals. Once a Chosen of the Sun, now the Avatar of Fear.
Beware the scarabs, beware The Risen’s instrument...

The first thing I’m immediately drawn to is the gold symbol attached the the purple sash at his waist. That’s the royal symbol and the royal colors of the fallen Shuriman Empire.
His real arms are crossed over his chest, typical of mummification. He also has a jade and gold headdress and his armor is littered with other jewels. Perhaps in life he was an Royal Advisor or a highly decorated warrior.
His “hands” seem to be floating relics of some sort, crafted in the form of Scarabs. Scarabs are known for burrowing into the dead and eating flesh.
His ultimate also features Scarabs instead of Crows. Definitely a “bringer-of-death” vibe going on here.
He only has one eye and his bottom jaw is missing (it has instead been replaced with a gold replacement). This leads me to believe that his death was in battle. Perhaps a spear through the eye and out through the mouth? We know ancient shuriman warrior loved spears.
The only thring throwing me off here is his relative size to his surroundings. He seems to be inside of a Shuriman ruin, but his one hand is the size of that doorway. If he was mortal, he wouldn’t be that big. Is this is what happens to the Ascended once they are killed?
"Are you afraid?"
