SPOILERS FOR RIPTIDE 120
Riptide 120 adds fuel to my theory that Queen is a doppelgänger from when the Navy was testing their cloning tech- mostly because of the tie-ins with memory.
Doppel-Gilly was made hastily when the tech was finished, and he had some (even most!) of gillion's memories. Detailed memories, too.
Doppel-Edyn was made purposely, assumedly by the navy with plenty of time and preparation, and she has ALL of Edyn's memories. Enough to sob to Gillion about how everything [Edyn] does is to bring him home.
Queen has no memories before Allport. They get feelings from different cues that they recognize, but nothing more. They're scared of who they could have been before Allport.
I stand by my theory that the original Queen was cloned (willingly or unwillingly?), and the clone was dumped, memoryless, onto the most populated island on Mana to fend for themself.
