growing sick of this and i don't wanna make you sad
still got lil peep on my mind. hope you’re flying higher than ever angel. via mj (yungluxCrü)
I wasn’t a long time fan and I’m not going to sit here and act like I was, but as an advocate for mental health I wish to make it a point to do just that. I watched my fair share of friends abuse pills and drugs, and have done so myself. Here’s a fact for you I don’t share too often, I overdosed in high school and hid it from my family while I was throwing up for two days straight and by the time I told them and they took me to the hospital there was nothing left to pump out of me. I abused pills taking them every day which mainly consisted of coricidin, anxiety Meds (which I was not prescribed), and somas. It’s how I started my day, and sometimes I couldn’t even walk by the time my school day was over. And yet, I told myself “I wasn’t addicted”. It took me choosing to isolate myself and spend my senior year sober to stop. Most people with mental illness and depression who abuse substances are trying to escape a reality they don’t like and the devils in their mind. No matter how functional that person may be not sober, they’re killing their insides and it’ll likely kill them at some point. And 9 times out of 10, the problem at staring their friends right in the face and no one does anything about it. Please pay attention to the signs from your friends and family that may be struggling with addiction, whether or not they also have mental health problems. You’re never too cool to care about the well being of yourself and people around you. It’s sad to see a life end from something like this especially when it hits close to home for me and my past struggles. Whether or not this was intentional, I’m sorry that this was how your life ended. I hope it at least serves some good by making people aware of situations that may be similar around us, and try to help so this isn’t someone you loves’ fate. #ripgus #mentalhealthawareness
