Yesterday, I did something I regret.
While my husband was carrying around our child, I noticed a small piece of fluff on his shoulder. I plucked it off, pinching for some stupid reason I cannot fathom. And... it wasn’t fluff. Looking among the remnants on my finger, I found the remains, of a jumping spider.
I felt like I betrayed a friend. All it wanted to do was eat bugs that broke into my house in this fall season. It was just hitching a ride on some big thing, and was holding very still. I’m so sorry little friend!!!
For context, if it isn’t venomous, I won’t kill it. I’ll just put most spiders outside. If a non venomous spider comes back inside the house through some crack I haven’t sealed, it’s harmless for the most part. The venomous ones, well I don’t want any chance of my baby being bit.
But I don’t like killing spiders. Can’t explain why, I just don’t. Never have.

there's a blackbird who lives outside the house who keeps coming really close and it's my new goal to befriend him
Update on the spider: someone printed out a picture and wrote "In loving memory of spitter. Struck down by evil." We tapped it to where it was squished and I played amazing grace on my phone. We all bowed our heads in respect. It was beautiful.
