Ringed Pipefish (Dunckerocampus dactyliophorus)
Also known as the Banded Pipefish, the ringed pipefish is a species of pipefish endemic to the tropical waters of Australia, Southeast Asia, Asia and South Africa. Like all pipefish the ringed pipefish has an highly elongated body, this is a form a camouflage that allows the fish to stay hidden among reeds. Like its seahorse relatives the male banded pipefish has a brood pouch which allows him to take care of the females developing eggs.
