Scribbled Pipefish (Corythoichthys intestinalis)

Also known as the Messmate Pipefish, the Scribbled Pipefish is a species of pipefish (Syngnathinae) that is widespread throughout the Western Central Pacific, ranging from Borneo to Samoa, north to the Marshall and Mariana Islands, and south to Rowley Shoals and New Caledonia. Adult C. intestinalis typically inhabit shallow sandy or coral areas of reef flats and lagoons. However, they are also sometimes found in seaward reefs. Like most pipefish male C. intestinalis carries the eggs of the female in a brood pouch which is located under his tail.

Mushroom-coral Pipefish (Siokunichthys nigrolineatus)

...a species of pipefish (Syngnathinae) that is native to the Western Central Pacific, ranging from Indonesia to Papua New Guinea and the Philippines. Mushroom-coral pipefish typically inhabit coastal reefs and is commensal with solitary corals, notably Fungia echinata and Heliofungia actiniformis. Like other Sygnathids S. nigrolineatus males will carry his eggs in a brood pouch which is found under his tail.

Honshu Pipefish (Doryrhamphus japonicus)

...a species of "flagtail pipefish" that is is distributed throughout the Western Pacific, ranging from Japan to Indonesia. D. japonicus typically inhabits small caves in rocky reefs, and is sometimes known to share said caves with other fish and crabs. They are also known to associate with sponges and urchins of the genus Diadema. Like most pipefish male Honshu pipefish will carry the eggs in a special brood pouch which is located under its tail. The eggs usually spawn from the end of May to September.
