I was wondering if you'll go back to writing foe rikunami again? I recently saw you comment on a fic and remembered you have also written for this couple. I ask out of curiosity, not to force you. you're one of the most dedicated writers and I kinda miss rikunami a lot, always hate to see people say it's "forced" or "comes outta nowhere"

I do plan on writing for Rikunami again, I'm glad you asked ❤️ I have a few more story ideas for them, like I still want to do something Hades and Persephone inspired, and then I plan on updating The Fisherman and the Selkie, even if I do what I've done so far and only manage to get it updated once a year on Rikunami Day 😅
I miss them too and I enjoy their dynamic and the moments they have together! Sad that you‘re seeing hate for them, but that just makes me want to write more stories for them lol.

NGL the deep shame new rikunami shippers have been conditioned by this fandom to have is ridiculous. The ship is charming. It's not the most popular and doesn't align with some popular HEADcanons, so what? You're allowed to like things and have opinions other members of the fandom don't share in. That doesn't make you a bad person whatsoever. This is not a hive mind and you shouldn't let tumblrites bully you into thinking otherwise and talk you out of something that gives you joy.
And to all the cyberbullying antis and Naminé bashers: I know you're only torturing other KH fans because fandom feels like the only thing you have control over and you so desperately need a "win" that you'll punch down on a section of the fandom that is too small and quiet to punch back. Tag your negativity properly, stay in your lanes, approach discussions in good faith, or move on and block the tags that annoy you. Shipping is a fun little pasttime. GROW UP, stop being a dictator, and let other people have their fun. Your fun isn't being damaged or taken away by their existence.

my biggest confession is i like rikunami. yes they are hetslop but there's a really interesting character study to be found in their relationship between com and kh2. i think they were both very lonely during that time, and searching for human connection and found it in each other. they found intimacy in their mutual love of sora. idk. does it make sense that i also like sorikai and rikai

Hi Phoenix! Long time no see. I know you're busy, but I wanted to ask you a question. In Chain of Memories, Riku "smells" Darkness which is kinda strange. Is "smell" really the correct translation? Sorry, if someone already asked this before.

I do think it's a fairly accurate translation, if for no other reason than yes, the word can be translated that way, and also, Riku touches his nose when he says it, though some of the nuance of the term gets lost in translation:
JP 会って 感じたんだ カイリと同じ匂いだな って
EN I knew when I met you. You and Kairi smell the same.
TR I had the feeling when I met you. I thought, you and Kairi smell the same.
Notes: Riku uses ~nda to offer Naminé an explanation/answer her question. The tte at the very end of this bit of dialogue I figure he’s using to quote himself.
But for the heart of the issue… 匂い nioi can mean the following: odor, scent, smell. (The following screenshot is from the app imiwa?)
