Rig's notes:The RED. The RED: Regenerating Elimination Device. developed by a human hacker in some kind of top secret cyber defense research facility to run in a 'controlled' environment. The purpose of this program was to test feasibility of a concept known as a 'fire sale' where a hack could destroy all known systems of infrastructure without anything to stop it. the concept was simple; build a program to attempt such an attack within a controlled simulated environment and develop better defensive material. The program was developed to recover, rebuild and strengthen itself in response to attacks in order to simulate a learning and ever growing threat. However, this program worked too well, and was shut down to pursue other means and more likely methods of attack. The problem was in the human who did not destroy the program and a copy was somehow lost. News articles I have gathered seem to imply that the human was killed for the knowledge they held. What isn't certain is how the program became intertwined with an arcade cabinet. I myself have speculation that the fail-safe and activation devices were put into the cabinet data to prevent the program from being used by hiding it in a place where none would ever find it.
