Jo would also look diligently for Ed. He's just not a detective like Ed so he'd be a bit lost. Luckily Ed would have been able to escape from Penguin's grasp and the only thing he'd want to do is find Jonathan again. That's all that's left over from his transformation. Jonathan can't recognize him immediately but when he actually looks closer, he knows for sure who it is.

I gave Edward his own scarebeast form, riddlebeast! Eventually I will probably get around to writing a scarebeast + riddlebeast fic at some point if people are interested in seeing that too lol

(although I do wanna finish smth for my doki doki au before I do that, so hopefully that won't take too long)

I'm not sure how I would handle that swap, though it does sound like a fun challenge!

It would have to be some kind of curse brought on by using the lazarus pit I think. My first thought is transformations due to high emotions and stress but I feel like Edward is always on high alert and too quick to anger.

I also feel like he wouldn't stop until he learned how to control the change at will. If he could get control over it, It could make a lot of his projects a lot easier to put together. Having extra strength and being able to weasel his way into hard to reach spots.

I don't think I would be able to make Edward a horrific beast, he would have to be somewhat beautiful, and majestic but still able to drop that charm at the drop of a hat and shred someone to pieces.

I will take this as an opportunity to update his design. I threw together his and Jervis's beast designs because I didn't think I would be drawing them that much, and I didn't really have any ideas for them story-wise (in terms of an alt timeline). The more I've drawn him, the more I felt like he wasn't really a 'beast'; he felt a little too much like a normal animal. I'm more satisfied with this. He matches the other two more. He's also a bit bigger.

Jonathan is pretty much the only rogue to deal with him besides Penguin. If Jonathan thought Ed was a handful before, he's maybe triple that as a beast. He's even more clingy somehow, on top of that, Jo wouldn't really know how to care for him. He'd be so scared of not providing for him properly. He couldn't tell what food Ed could and could not eat, how much he should feed him, just any of his needs. He'd try very hard to keep Ed healthy and comfortable in this state, and is even willing to work with Batman to cure his best friend.

I don't think any other rogue would even see Riddlebeast since Ed only wants to be around Jonathan. Of course, Penguin is the reason Ed is like that, and he would not treat him very well. He'd see Ed as a tool, not even a useful pet. I imagine Penguin would do this to get to Scarecrow; that's the real prize. Unfortunately for Oz, Ed is still very good at worming out of things.

Ed and Jonathan will certainly not give you permission. You'd be lucky to approach them so casually and walk away unscathed.

Jervis is the only beast you could approach safely and would be fine to touch. This does not mean he is harmless. Think of it like approaching a horse; you should still be cautious when approaching. If he's spooked, he could seriously injure you and even kill you. Do not touch him if he is not aware you are there.

I know he looks cute, but he's still a beast and also still does not like being touched by strangers. You are welcome to try but at your own risk. He's like a raccoon, very cute but very vicious.

Scarecrow is certainly capable of getting to and killing Penguin but he wouldn't do it immediately. He has to figure out what he injected Ed with and how he did it first. If Oz complies, maybe he'll spare him. If Scarecrow doesn't deem it necessary he won't kill but he'd certainly be very tempted, so Oz better not make it necessary. Scarecrow is not someone you want to make enemies with. Penguin will learn that the hard way. Being sparred should be the least of Oz worries anyway. Death may be a mercy compared to the living nightmare Scarecrow would put him through once he has what he needs.
