"Jon?"

"JON!"

the sound of crunching and tearing gets louder and louder as Edward runs closer and closer. The creature would thrash around as large chunks fell off the creature almost like a wilting flower with a sickening "squelch" every time. Edwards runs faster desperate to get to the creature quickly.

"JON IT'S GOING TO BE OK! I'M HERE!" Edward screamed.

It falls to the ground with a perturbing crunch as it deflates. Edward finally reaches it pulling out a knife and heading to the back of it. He starts cutting through intercostal muscles.

"can you hear me?"

his questions are responded with a muffled groan. Edward grimaces at the tearing noises but finally sees black coily hair. he sets the knife aside pulling apart the ribs from the spine fully seeing Jonathan.

"ok... ok... it's going to be fine..."

Edward carefully pulls Jonathan out. Edward removes his coat and wraps it around Jonathan's waist then lifts him up and onto his shoulder.

"Jon? can you hear me?"

"hnnnnnnn"

"ok... ok that's close... close enough..."

It was a long walk to the car and Edward didn't exactly enjoy getting soaked in viscera, but it was worth it. Luckily the car ride home was rather short.

The car ride home was silent, Jon not really awake enough to speak and Edward not really knowing what to fill the quiet with. At least the building itself was quiet, of course it was just an abandoned apartment complex but it was good enough.

Edward turned on the shower and set Jonathan on the toilet. He looked like hell as was expected from what just happened.

"hey... Jonathan?"

"hmm"

"can... can you speak?"

"mmm"

"ok... that's fine"

Edward looked back at the shower and started getting undressed. First the prosthesis then the garments then he unties his coat from Jonathan's waist. He carefully picked up Jonathan and awkwardly carried him into the shower.

"is the water too hot?"

Jonathan starts breathing heavily. Maybe it's shock? It's hard to tell with his expressionless face. Edward turns down the temperature slightly to see if that helps, It doesn't.

"hey it's going to be ok we just need to get washed up real quick... get rid of the blood and these... mats?"

Edward plays with Jonathan's hair looking through the various tangles in his hair. It's odd with how Jonathan usually is.

"we can worry about that later, let's just get cleaned up alright?"

"hmm"

Edward hold Jonathan to himself as he combs through Jonathan's hair trying to remove the blood first. The tangles make it difficult and there seems to be more grime than just the blood of the recent scarebeast transformation.

Luckily the water takes off a good part of the blood from their skin. Jonathan starts making off ragged noises when Edward tries to start scrubbing his skin.

"hey, hey it's ok we just... it's just a matter of getting rid of the blood. We need to get rid of the blood before it starts causing problems"

Jonathan's breathing seems to regulate slightly. Edward smiles at this, grabbing Jonathan's hand. He rubs the back of Jonathan's hand, holding him close with his head resting on Edward's chest.

Edward better notices his odd shaking like this. Is he scared of something? Or just aftershocks? Hard to say with him...

"is everything alright?"

He doesn't really move aside from slightly trembling. Edwards frowns, slightly looking down at him. There's a moment of stillness before he finally grabs the shampoo. He squirts some into Jonathan's hair and starts rubbing it into his hair.

He has difficulty getting through the many tangles but manages well enough. He grabs the shampoo bottle and quickly gets his own hair done. Rinsing was a bit of a hassle but otherwise fine. Edward looks down at Jonathan a bit worried.

"can you talk now?"

"...yes"

"o-oh! do you need anything?"

Jonathan doesn't speak just staring ahead. This was worrying to Edward but he just grabs the conditioner. Perhaps he just didn't want to talk?

He gets some of it into Jonathan's hair and quickly starts rubbing it in. It was a quick ordeal the he turns it on himself and quickly gets it done. Edward turns Jonathan's face up to his.

"I need to get your body are you ok with?"

Jonathan starts oddly trembling in Edward's arms. Even more worrying but Edward keeps prying.

"Jonathan? are you ok?"

Jonathan's breathing gets heavy and he curls into himself. Edward wraps his arms around Jonathan and rests his head on top of Jonathan's. They sit there for a moment just in the stillness only the sound of water falling accompanying them. At last Jonathan finally speaks.

"how... how can you touch me?" he speaks oddly small.

"what?"

Jonathan looks down at himself for a moment then back up at Edward. His expression is hard to read but he seems discomforted by the moment.

"I..."

"it's just a matter of washing up, nothing personal"

Jonathan side eyes him for a moment seemingly confused. In hindsight that wasn't exactly the best thing to say. Edward wasn't exactly the best at these things.

"I need to help wash your body is that ok?"

Jonathan's silent for a moment. He awkwardly looks around but his breathing gets normal and he stops trembling. Finally he speaks up.

"...yes?"

"ok then"

Edward grabs a loofah and squirts some body wash on it, rubbing it for a second then starts to scrub down Jonathan. He has an odd build but it's not difficult. The trembling gets bad as Edward moves.

"Jon... are you ok?"

"y-yes just... just make this quick... please"

Edward frowns as he continues, now picking up speed as per Jonathan's request. It was quick and soon enough Edward has to awkwardly push Jon away to get his own body.

Jonathan seems to relax more when they're not touching. Edward soon enough gets himself done. He then stands up and picks up Jonathan who starts awkwardly trembling again.

He carries Jon out and sets him on the toilet. Edward awkwardly grabs some towels handing one to Jonathan and using the other on himself.

Jonathan wraps himself up in the towel as Edward quickly dries himself off.

"hey Jon, you alright?"

"yeah..."

"alright let's just go to bed"

Jonathan looks at Edward oddly, tightly clutching the towel. He stands up trembling slightly and walks over to Edward. Edward wraps an arm around Jonathan as they walk over to their bedroom. Upon getting there Edward speaks up.

"want to get dressed first?"

"..."

"well?"

"I... uhm no..."

Edward smiles crawling into the bed. Jonathan drops the towel and quickly crawls in after him then grabs Edward, hugging him.
