You and your wife WILL get into the newest, most obscure piece of media and will represent MOST of the fandom purely because this thing got ZERO traction and the studio that made it might not even EXIST for much longer. You will adore ONE emo gay man and ONE Stoopid teenage girl as well as this weird dog THING and a rat named CHEEKERS
RHEM (2002)
RHEM is a graphic adventure (point-and-click, pre-calculated first person). The virtual world is shown through the eyes of the players. The environment consists of individual pictures covering a 360-degree view.
You arrive in the world of Rhem by a rail car. For a moment, you must simply sit tight, unable to escape. Then, the car begins to roam this world, revealing its mysteries, little by little. You soon learn that the only possibility for your safe return home is a letter consisting of four hidden fragments, which you must not only find, but also put together. Upon disembarking the rail car, and now in search of the letter, you will explore the land of Rhem...

zenosanalytic replied to your photo: This taunts me.Β Itβs obviously a hint, but I have...
is that was the windmillβs βfanβ looks like? Looks a bit like a ventilation fan. Regardless, I still wouldnβt have any idea what it means(activate something to itβs right, maybe? Like: maybe thereβs a fan or windmill or vent with a button/lever/whatever on both sides, and you need to press the right one? Make the blades turn clockwise??)
From what I could see of the windmill blades that is pretty similar to what they look like.
I solved the puzzle, though, I think the sign means βthis conduit is involved in turning the windmill on and offβ which I had kind of guessed, given what it was connected to.Β The real hint was on the back of a door that I forgot to check, because thatβs where the hint always is in these games
So far I liked the Rhem II special edition content better than the the Rhem I and IV special editions, which fits with me liking Rhem II the best in general.Β A well-designed mini-maze, and the last puzzle was actually very well hinted.
Sort of interestingly, at the end of this part of the game was this:
Meneandes is... Iβm not sure exactly.Β Generally you βinteractβ with these two guys named Kales and Zetais, I think the first reference to Meneandes was at the end of the original Rhem III where there was a short cutscene that wasnβt really clear about much.Β Thereβs also a location in Rhem IV which is called βMeneandesβ Houseβ but I donβt think there was a cutscene with him.Β Itβs not clear whether this letter is meant to be addressed to the player, or to Kales, who is the guy who explores Rhem and leaves notes behind for the player.Β But Rhem is definitely supposed to be One Place, so e.g. Kales will talk about βgoing to a different part of Rhemβ etc. with the implication that each of the games is in a different part of Rhem (and supposedly Rhem V will connect all of the previous games together).Β So itβs kind of fourth-wall-breaking that this letter talks about βRhem 3β³ and βRhem 5β³.Β I remember there was a Meneandes letter at the end of Rhem I SE, and maybe Rhem IV, I canβt remember?Β But I canβt remember if it directly talked about the games by name like this.
