it  feels  as  if  she's  been  reading  the  same  three  lines  in  the  dossier  she  has  open  in  her  lap  for  hours  ------  and  while  that  might  be  an  exaggeration,  it's  the  only  place  she  feel  she  can  look  without  getting  distracted  ----  and  for  all  the  wrong  reasons.

it's  bad  enough  the  seats  on  the  train  make  it  so  their  shoulders  brush  together  every  time  there's  a  bump  or  a  curve  in  the  track  ----  she  doesn't  need  a  physical  reminder  that  he's  there  sitting  beside  her. not  when  she's  been  berating  herself  silently  since  they  both  sat  down. conversation  on  her  end  has  been  reduced  to  vital  half  sentences  only;  an  impressive  feat  on  it's  own  considering  she  knows  her  tongue  is  sharp  enough  to  do  some  real  damage  if  she  lets  it. 

but  he  keeps  trying  to  get  her  to  engage  (  she  isn't  sure  if  she  should  be  impressed  by  his  determination,  or  if  it's  all  the  more  reason  to  keep  her  mouth  shut  just  to  spite  him  ),  the  latest  lurch  of  their  car  giving  him  an  excuse  to  try  again.

she  turns  the  page  despite  not  being  anywhere  near  the  end  of  the  paragraph,  hoping  that  a  little  gesture  like  this  is  enough  to  shake  her  back  towards  the  task  at  hand  and  not  listening  to  her  subconscious  reminding  her  of  the  last  two  weeks. 

𝐢𝐧   𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭   𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭   𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬   𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐞   𝐠𝐨𝐝   𝐨𝐟   𝐭𝐡𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫   has   had   no   idea   who   he   is   or   who   he   was   meant   to   be.   whatever   the   path   that   fate   laid   out   for   him   has   been   muddled   with   indecision   and   uncertainty   .   his   heart   has   been   the   most   troublesome   with   having   to   keep   itself   closed   off   in   order   to   protect   itself   .      thor   was   a   disaster   for   more   than   a   few   years   and   even   now   he’s   been   hesitant   to   allow   more   pain   to   seep   through   ,   but   with   steve   everything   is   just   EASY   .   far   too   easy   at   times   that   it   truly   FRIGHTENS   him   .   his   feelings   for   the   soldier   outweigh   any   doubt   he   might   have   even   if   there   are   moments   where   he   might   seem   very   unsure   .   

when   it   comes   to   love   ,   thor   hasn’t   had   too   much   experience   with   it   regardless   of   how   long   he’s   traversed   existence   .   they   are   still   figuring   this   out   screwing   this   up   isn’t   something   he   wants   to   do   .   not   now.   .   .   now   ever   .   hearing   steve’s   words   bring   his   world   back   into   focus   after   hee’s   been   rambling   about   his   fears   ,   which   is   also   a   new   occurrence   for   the   god   that   used   to   be   so   PROUD   and   confident   .

what   does   he   say?   what   is   there   to   say   ?   in   the   beginning   of   their   escapades   ,   thor   had   been   the   one   to   pursue   @rgerz​​   ,   but   now   he’s   diving   into   unknown   territory   that   could   leave   him   open   to   more   pain   .   more   suffering   .   with   the   amount   of   ways   steve   fills   his   heart   ,   what   would   happen   if   that   were   ripped   from   him   ??      he   turns   to   see   steve   staring   at   him   with   that   adoration   he’s   come   to   bask   in   .   rely   on   and   hope   it   never   leaves   because   thor   would   give   this   man   the   moon   if   he   asked   .   ❝      i’m   sorry   .      i   didn’t   mean   t.   .   .   ❞   he   sighs   trying   to   find   his   words   instead   of   tripping   over   them   .      ❝      i   want   this   .   .   .   i   want   this   more   than   i’ve   ever   wanted   anything   and   i   don’t   expect   there   to   be   any   restrictions   .   i   don’t   .   .   .   i’m trying .     ❞      love   is   unconditional   .   he   has   to   remember   that   .   

                    A wide grin splits across her lips as she turns to face Steve, hair tossing over her shoulder. Nadia’s gaze is full of delight at the comment, fighting back the laughter that bubbles in her throat, clearly taking joy in making the super soldier uncomfortable. She allows the grin to fade to a smirk, lips tugging at the corners as she winks playfully in response. 

         “ It can be if you’d like. “ she teases. “ All you have to do is ask. “
