I'm so glad you loved Rewind and are enjoying C.o.R. as well!!! And yeah, it was fun to add mentions of the Rewind MC with their loved one. I'm of the idea that true love can last a very long time, even forever, if it's nurtured.

But yes, there is a way each RO kept the MC alive... and sometimes it wasn't by their own powers. Hehehe.

OOOOOOH I LOVE THE WAY U THINK MEIRA. Let’s see.. (I’m assuming this is a babie)

Avalon/Avlyne would hands down turn into a bawling mess and immediately go to pick their child up, craddling them and cooing to them very sweetly. AV loves children, and having that reaction to them from their own would melt their already very soft heart.

Kelsey/Kelsen would probably be a little unsure on what to do, but feel really happy regardless. They’d come over and talk very quietly to the baby, and mainly play with them rather than pick them up. I’d imagine MC would catch them holding the baby later, though. They’re not very good with children as they’ve never been around them, but they will try their best.

Alain would also be a blubbering mess of a man, like AV, and would very enthusiastically talk to the baby and would try to hold them with MC’s help. He’d be very careful and very worried about “breaking” the baby. Alanna would also be very enthusiastic about this, and eagerly go over to the baby while talking animatedly to them, and would play with them for as long as they wanted. Probably say things she shouldn’t in front of a baby.

I can’t answer this for Ryx/Lio! Will do so after Rewind eventually comes out.

Sam would probably freeze and be unsure of what to do. It would be very happy about the baby recognizing it, but it wouldn’t know what to do about that. If MC explained, Sam would very gladly become a near-constant holding and rocking chair and would very much latch onto its child with a deep closeness between them.

Chronicles of Rebirth

I actually got quite a bit of work done on CoR these last few days, and I’m super glad I did!!! Thus far:

We have one [1] new Romance Option!!! (And I’m open to adding more in the future if people want particular characters!!!) The newest RO is a genderlocked genderqueer named Alice who has a preference for women and other genderqueers! While I was writing the beginning of the meeting, I started to love them so much that I just HAD to make her an RO!!!

That brings me to my next part of the update: I have hit scene three of Chapter 4, the meeting!!! It has not fully begun, but the MC is currently at it, so yay!!

That brings CoR’s entire script up to around ~36-37,000 words, not including additional pages information (like the diary entries I do, the lexicon, the files you can read, etc) meaning, overall, the script is probably longer than Rewind’s if we take out the pages information from Rewind!!! AAAAAH!

Overall, CoR is starting to get back its speed!! (*knocks on wood*)

Rewind

So, Rewind, the original thing that brought all of you here in the first place!!! I know you all remember how I was on a big hiatus and was unsure of how to do Rewind as it just couldn’t fit as a Choice game, right? :D

As it turns out, I have been tweaking the script and tweaking my ideas, brainstorming with some peeps on Discord and primarily Rissa, and I have a good idea on how to revamp Rewind to make it as a Choice game!!!! This will require a HUGE rewrite of the original beta (which it needs anyway, G-D), and should allow people to actually pick their route from the start!!! I will probably start the rewrite after I complete Chapter 4 for COR, and go back and forth between the two and maybe another project that has a completely different thing going on in case I need a breather!

OH BOY. Feelings(tm), my favorite!Avalon/Avlyne would honestly be even more excited to see MC again and to see how their relationship will grow. AV is not afraid of their feelings, especially not for MC :)Kelsey/Kelsen would be a little confused; they’ve never really been interested in anyone romantically, so they wouldn’t exactly know what they’re feeling. The first time it happens they think it’s simply them having a liking for MC’s company or... bed. :D

Alain/Alanna would know exactly what the butterflies are and would try to stamp them down. While Alanna is more open with her feelings than Alain for our human MC, they both know how dangerous it is to love a human around their pack. It has... never gone well before.

So, I know I put up a LOT of information that a big surprise! I’m so sorry to dump all that on you guys so fast, so here’s a little more of a help for understanding what will be happening:

Hey, guys!!! I am SO sorry for the dead silence that was happening from us for the last little while! Over my spring break, I had a really really bad case of my depression flairing up and missing my dad so much I couldn’t do much other than basic tasks :c. Over this week, I have been super busy just trying to get my class work done for college; as I graduate May 9th, there’s a LOT of work to get done, so I just didn’t have time to update you guys!!!

So, welcome to all of you new peeps!!! I’m so glad you joined us!!!

There are a LOT of announcements to be made today.

Starting with Rewind and Nelroche. Unfortunately, after a lot of feedback and trying to fix our game mechanics, we realized that both of these games need to be changed from interactive fiction. There is just no way we can force them into that format and still keep the story we want to tell you guys!!! Rewind’s demo will still stay on the Choice of Games website for those of you who want to replay it!!!

Now, this is not to say we’re quitting interactive fiction. Quite the opposite, we’re putting Rewind and Nelroche on the backburner until we actually have a way to fund those projects. For now, we have decided to focus our efforts on our projects that still can be fitted into the interactive fiction format!

Rissa currently has a project in mind for her focus, but I’m still a little finicky on mine. I am still very much working on Chronicles of Rebirth!! But I also want to take up the mantle on another project or two so I have places to go when I hit a block or need to think. You’d be surprised what kind of inspiration I hit while writing other stuff :D

Now, as for Chronicles of Rebirth (COR), there has been a LOT going on with it! I’m on Chapter 4, and the beginning scene is very tailored to the different ways MC feels over being turned into a hunter, meaning each option opens new dialogue and sometimes new actions! But, certain options can only open based on your earlier options! Other new things in COR:

Pronoun and gender overhaul! I’m sure I mentioned this, but you can choose quite a few things in Chapter one, like if you’re a man or woman, if you’ve always identified as such, and a whole SLEW of pronoun stuff for people who don’t identify as any of the above! You even have the option to input your own pronouns!

A lot more customisation is available than in Rewind. So far, there is hunter garb, sleepwear (or lack thereof), and soon there will be the option of casuals with LOTS of options! There will likely also be a combative armor choice based on what type of fighter (or otherwise) you choose to be!

So, so many eye colors. You have your human eyes, and then there might be some new options of your choice now that you’re no longer human...

So far, I have 4/5 options done for scene one in COR! It takes me longer to write them due to the differences, but it also makes a better feel for your playthrough! :D I also may have went mad with power and added a shite ton of hidden variables... some of which reference certain well-known television shows or video games. I also have random things added in every now and then.

Given all of this, I hope you all stick around and see what else we can create! It’s super unfortunate Rewind’s and Nelroche’s storyline really need a different format, but we have much more to come!!! Please, if you have any questions, feel free to ask them!!!
