Sans watched silently as Papyrus talked to the blind skeleton floating in the tank before glancing back down at the data on the tablet.
HP: <unknown>
Attack: <unknown>
Defense: <unknown>
Subject 0-Gās information fluctuated too much to get an accurate reading.
Sans sighed, he knew 0-G wasnāt going to last long outside of the tank, and leaving him in there felt wrong.
āPapyrus.ā He finally spoke, āCome with me.ā
The tall skeleton looked at him, then back at 0-G, āIāll be right back, I promise!ā
āO-K-A-Yā 0-G tapped out on the glass.
Papyrus smiled and then followed Sans into the other room, āWhat is it, brother?ā
āPapā¦I donāt think 0-G can survive outside the tank.ā Sans said frankly yet delicately, āHis HP keeps changingā¦itās unpredictableā¦Iām afraid if we take him out, he might get hurtā¦or die.ā
Papyrusā smile fell a little, āOhā¦W-well, maybe heāll stabilize once heās outside of the tank!ā
āThe clones I made didnāt even make it out of the tank, Papyrusā¦Iām certain heās not too far behind them.ā
āClones? I thought those samples you took from his hands were to correct his instability.ā
āThey were at first, butā¦that proved unsuccessfulā¦ā Sans put his hand on his brotherās shoulder, āItās only a matter of time, Papā¦we should think abo-ā
āSans, donāt you dare finish that sentence! Iām not going to give up on him! Heās made it this far, what makes you think he canāt pull through?ā
āBecause the data doesnāt support it.ā
āTo heck with your data!ā
āPapyrus, donāt yell at me.ā Sans said seriously, āIām upset too, but would you rather let him live his life in that tank for all eternity? If we ever got out of the underground, we couldnāt take him with us.ā
āSans, you havenāt even given him a chance to live outside the tank!ā
āPapyrus, please, I donāt want hi-ā
The argument was interrupted by a loud explosion sound coming from the room with the tank. The brothers looked at each other, then hurried back into the room.
The tank was shattered, bits of glass and metal littering the soaked floor. Sitting hunched over where the tank once stood was Subject 0-G. He looked toward them, a hint of purple light shining under the bone on his skull. He reached out for them, wobbling slightly as the light died down. Papyrus rushed over and caught him as Sans looked at the damage.
āAlrightā¦ā Sans closed his eyes, turning off the tablet, āHeās earned his chanceā¦ā
