Even in my interrupted attempt to serve your brain to myself and Jack… it was not something I truly desired,” Hannibal hooded his wine-colored eyes as he spoke, “it takes mere moments to breach the skull. What I did to you scarred, but was truly superficial.”
Will bore more scars across his body than any other individual Hannibal had touched -- Hannibal struck with fatality in mind. He had deft surgeon’s hands and made every mark upon Will just short of a mortal wounding. There were other marks the younger man wore that were tangential to Hannibal but had not been made by Hannibal’s hand. There were other scars Will bore that Hannibal would have shielded him from; the cut from Cordell’s scalpel.
He curled his fingers around Will’s when the man took his hand in both of his, rubbing his thumb briefly over the warmth of his skin, “I have no intention of us being separated, Will. Not now. Not anymore.”
