Having spent eight, very painful years as a ‘dancing bear’, Amity had suffered great injustice at the hands of his ex-Kalandar owners. When Team #WildlifeSOS rescued him in December 2012, we found him in a weak and half-starved condition. Extremely timid & scared, given his former experience with humans, Amity was initially wary of the veterinarians & staff but over time realized that they posed no threat to him. Today, this 19 year old gentle bear has made a remarkable recovery and weighs a healthy 118 kilograms.
