Hey! Just wanted to let you know that I’m a bit iffy about the RENPHO as of today. Yesterday I had a .8lb drop, and today it went back up to the previous weight, likely due to water retention and my cycle as I’ve been in a fairly strict calorie deficit. However, the RENPHO is showing that I gained +0.2% body fat, which just isn’t possibly the case. I just wanted to let you know in case you were still looking at options for a BF% scale! It’s not terrible but also not the most reliably accurate thing.
Thanks for the info! That's so good to be aware of. Initial thought is that if the weight gain was water retention and the weight loss shows an increase in fat%, that makes some sense to me. If the increase in weight and increase in fat happened at the same time, I'm more confused or would have trouble seeing the gain as water, if it were me. I'm just not familiar enough with how that percent can fluctuate to be able to tell if 0.2 is a lot or normal. Like, because I weigh myself every day, I know what normal fluctuations look like and what to expect most days, so I'm interested to see how that goes on the fat% end.
👀Maybe you can watch that and report back if the general trend with small daily ups and downs feels fair or not. After talking about this with my partner last night, we might just ditch the old scale when we move to have one less packed thing (like how I'm delaying the food scale) and get the fat% one when we get where we're going. So I got a couple months to consider the options.
