I feel like, as an ex-Muslim, I can't talk about my own experiences or criticize Islam without being made to feel guilty. This community acts like any criticism of the religion is automatically Islamophobic, when criticizing a religion isn't the same as attacking the people who follow it. My trauma has had a lasting impact on me, and I shouldn't be shamed for speaking honestly about it. Ex-Muslims deserve to have our experiences heard too, even when those experiences lead us to criticize the beliefs or practices that harmed us.
