Granted—it’s not like he regularly preened his pin feathers, so he lived with the consequences of the number of pin feathers.

He was mostly able to live with the slight uncomfortable feeling of his wings. But right now he just couldn’t.

From tussling around with ReGect, to getting into shenanigans with both Moe and Regect. He found his wings being more uncomfortable than ever.

So now here he was, sitting on his bed, his wings curled in front of himself, picking at the small pin feathers buried beneath all of the feathers.

At this point, his back was hurting like a bitch from hunching. Ze sighed as he put his hands on the small of his back, stretching as he sighed out a small: “Ah, shit..” Slightly wincing at the sound of his back cracking.

He could go for a nap.

“HEY ZE!”

Of-fucking-course.

Ze quickly turns around.

ReGect stands just outside of his room, and just stares at him.

“Get the hell out!?” Ze was more than just embarrassed—he was fucking mortified. Both from ReGect’s lack of privacy and from the fact that he was caught doing something so..

private..?

“Holy shit dude, you’re fucking ass at preening.”

“WHAT THE FUCK?”

ReGect quickly puts his hands up in mock surrender. “Woah, woah! Don’t get your panties in a twist!”

“Dude.”

ReGect doesn’t say a word as he makes his way over to Ze. Stopping just right behind him.

“You need help or something?”

Ze stops.

What?

Well, Sure, he really did need the help due to the fact that he was almost dying from all of the preening. But he couldn’t help but slightly shiver at the intimacy behind preening.

It wasn’t just a casual thing that people did—it was more than that.

So much more.

Did he really want ReGect to do something to intimate?

“Hurry up before I change my mind.”

“YAY!!”

Ze barley had time to blink before ReGect happily sat behind him, softly—almost delicately—tugging at his wings.

“…Take off your shirt.”

“WHAT?”

“GET YOUR MIND OUTTA THE FUCKING GUTTER DUDE!?”

After much defiance and hesitation, Ze finally settled down, deciding to rest his shirt across his chest and stomach to at least have some decency.

“Damn bitch, you live like this?”

Ze’s eye twitched. “Man, fuck you.”

“Whatever..” ReGect mumbled as he took out another pin feather. Earning a small huff from Ze.

The two fall into a somewhat comfortable silence—besides ReGect’s occasional humming or Ze’s sighs of when a particular pin feather was pulled out.

As much as Ze didn’t want to admit it. It was nice.

Really nice..

Ze shifts around, trying to make himself comfortable from his own slight discomfort. “Where did you even learn how to preen?”

ReGect freezes for a fraction of a second. His grip barely tightening before relaxing again.

“Wouldn’t you like to know, weather boy?”

Ze rolls his eyes.

They fall back into silence. ReGect going back to humming some 80’s song as he worked his way through Ze’s pin feathers.

’God, his touch feels nice.’

Ze couldn’t help but instinctively lean back towards ReGect’s soft touch. Sighing at the peace.

and ReGect didn’t say anything.
