The moon hung high in the sky, casting a pale glow over the quiet neighborhood as Céleste made her way to Reid's house. The streets were empty, the silence of the night only broken by the soft crunch of gravel beneath her boots. It was 2 a.m., but Céleste knew she couldn't wait any longer. She had to fix the mistake she had made. She had spent all day reading countless ancient books on the matter, most of them weren't clear but she could make up some things that made sense to her, and after all those hours something inside her cracked.

She didn't knock, she pounded on the door of Reid's home. "Oh, come one!" She exclaimed. "I thought hunters barely slept during this time of the night." It came easy to her to view Reid as a hunter still, and not a vampire, only because that was how he saw himself or tried to. She continued to knock on the door, this time more urgently. "Open up, Halstead!"

jai slid into the seat across from reid in the cafè, he’d heard about his little night with ollivander’s girl and how much it’d affected the asshole. in turn he knew reid was angry with octavia because of her inability to keep her mouth shut once she’d found out, it pleased him to no end how they seemed to involve themselves with people who angered them. “i don’t believe we’ve been introduced yet, i’m jai, and you’re reid right? heard you’re not happy with tavia, that’s something we have in common.”
