Fact vs Fiction: The Real BONES
I have had a lot of people ask me about what is real and what isn’t both in my TV series and in my books. Let me make this clear that the scientific methodologies and practices used both in the show and in my books are real. I fact-check and try to make the show and books as real as possible. This includes the facial reconstructions the team does, how the team determines gender/ethnicity/time of death, how important bugs are in determining other factual evidence related to the body, and how the justice system works. Now in real-life everything moves a lot slowly. You are not gonna get all the evidence needed in the span of a couple of days or a week. It takes time to process and evaluate the evidence. It takes more time even for the justice system to process everything as well. So I would say that is the main differences between fact and fiction. There’s also just the typical fiction stuff like the romance, and putting your life on the line type of stuff. But that is what makes the story more thrilling and more inviting to readers of all kind. Hope you enjoy and continue reading or viewing my books/show!
