An anti capitalist, anti imperialist people’s revolution is the change we need, not reform. Reform works as a pacifying tool for those in power. It provides no material change for the marginalized in such a significant way to be called "progressive" or "equitable".
We see, right now, today, how a president can come into power and obliterate reforms, how the rich and ruling class can repurpose reform to meaningless, powerless acts that are laughably useless at stopping grabs for power. Reforms are already weak acquiescence to the ruling class’s power, often with no means to be enforced by we the people because we lack an organized base, with shared baseline principles. Reforms never address the root of the problems, but makes it so that a select few can filter through to act as evidence that we're dealing with a "flawed" system that "works" while said system continues to robs us of our humanity and kills us all. What we need is the abolishment of the current system, not to continue to tweak it to the detriment of the most marginalized.
I’m saying we have been conditioned to accept reforms under a capitalist ruling class that benefits the most from our passive acceptance of weak, easily overturned reforms instead of revolution. I’m saying we have to move differently and we need to do that right now.
