4. What are some words or phrases you feel like you overuse?

oh my characters sigh a lot. in my defense they are often exasperated so like. it's fine. also i'm gonna try and work myself out of "thought" phrases because i do overuse them lol. there is a legit one i can't think of right now, i'll get back to you

5. What’s something you learned while researching a fic?

legitimately how to play bridge. my knowledge is not perfect in the slightest, but i feel like i have enough of the basics down that you could probably put me in a game and it wouldn't go Horribly

8. What is your favorite line/section from with all your heart?

section is a tie between wyatt's dream of the hotel and tseer meeting sable and steady just outside the factory. but you already know what my favorite line is. it's this one: 

“It’s not about whether or not you deserve it, or I deserve it,” Tseer says. “I love you. That means I want to be by your side. It’s as simple as that.”

19. How do you get over writer's block?

uhhhh i figured out a couple years back that my writers block is actually legitimate burnout. so i read, and watch movies, and play video games, and catch up with my other writer friends's projects. wait it out. sometimes prompts help too, but i try to not push too hard. the words will come back eventually. 

28. What's the angstiest idea you've ever come up with?

already answered, but then again i did write that doomsday ficlet, so yknow. that's up there. ;)

GAWWWWD listen, I am on my umpteenth relisten to the whole Murderbot series right now, and this thing is really bouncing around in my brain. It's more of a crossover than an au, actually?

But Nile Quynh Nicky Joe and Booker (and maybe magically-still-immortal Andy because I don't like to think about her not being there tbh) would be alive far into the future. And still doing everything possible to help people, which in this capitalist corporation-driven hellscape includes taking down companies that exploit people. (That is. All of them.)

wound: How does your OC handle being wounded? Are their wounds mostly physical? Mental? Emotional? What's the worst wound your OC has ever experienced?

*ugly sad laughter* So, the thing about someone nearly successfully killing you and going through a spiritual resurrection/rebirth of sorts following that event and the abusive relationship that proceeded it has left Thea with some...baggage. As a forged in the dark character, one of her XP triggers is addressing a challenge through recklessness and she is upsettingly willing to put her personal safety on the line.

Arguably she has dealt with worse wounds since the attempted murder (she is significantly stronger now - party tank is gonna tank) but that is still her most significant wound - especially given the psychological weight it carries. The scar around her neck and the one on her cheek are the markers of her old life and the one that was taken from her, and the person she might have been.

She's very much a 'walk it off until you can't' type, I picked up the triage move for her let lets her effectively reduce the severity of a wound until a job is over and then it has to be dealt with. Her body is something to be used (it's no real surprise that she has been a sex worker before moving into this more violent ine of work, as much as she doesn't relish in hurting other people) and her physicality is something that often catches people by surprise (short round woman in her mid-30s, will kick anyone and everyone's ass who tries their luck)

The problem with being used to having the ability to just morph away any injuries is that when you lose it, you need time to rethink your strategies. And when you're fighting in a war? You need to think *fast*, not easy to do with broken ribs.

Which is why he's stood outside their room, arm wrapped around himself as he struggles to breathe, knowing he needs their help. And not just with taping his ribs. He doesn't even realise that he's crying until a gentle hand is wiping the tears away and he's being ushered into the room, sat next to the sleeping form of his best friend in the cramped berth he's asleep in and a blanket being draped across his shoulders.
