❛ We can end it all right here, right now. ❜
❝ if you wanna talk, i’m here. ❞ :)
Icaring sentence starters.
IF YOU WANT TO TALK … V isn’t entirely sure that he does. Expressing his innermost thoughts & feelings is unfamiliar ground ( it always has been ) and though it is in humanity’s very nature to wear their hearts on their sleeves, he finds himself pulling back. Shying away from such a blatant display of humanness; succumbing to his old self’s ideas of what it means to be strong, to be powerful. The freezing cold has always been the best defense against the wants of the heart. Encase yourself in ice and do not let it melt, lest you find yourself burned.
Perhaps the things that need to be said are the things that he does not want to say. And perhaps it’s selfish of him to dance around what they need, because it’s what they need. Not just V, not just Dante — the two of them, together. What they need is to talk. What V does not want, is to talk. There’s an unfamiliar feeling there; one his old self had nearly forgotten, and one that his new self doesn’t enjoy. Fear. V is terrified to be rejected by Dante on the grounds that he’s Vergil; or on the grounds that he isn’t Vergil. The soul-piece holds such strong brotherly feelings towards Dante that he cannot bare to pretend otherwise, but who’s to say Dante feels the same way ? Would V rather throw his feelings out there and have them dashed, or would he opt to live as he does now: in agonising silence.
Then there’s the case of forgiveness. Would Dante choose that path, or would his grudge with Vergil pass to V, too ? And what if that is the path he chooses, and V in all his flaws ends up hurting his brother again ? Would either of them survive that ?
‘ I was angry with a friend — I told my wrath, my wrath did end. ’
He looks to his book, an ever-present source of advice, & flips to the page he’s reciting. Oddly fitting, he thinks, to their current situation; a poem that warns the consequences of allowing negative thoughts to fester. A poison tree, it’s called. The title draws a small, amused smile from V — certainly the foretelling of the Qliphoth’s growth. Green eyes look to Dante, and V decides that even if part of him doesn’t want to talk about anything, he’ll talk nonetheless. That had been Vergil’s mistake, hadn’t it ? Allowing his wrath to take root. V won’t make the same mistakes. He promises himself that.
‘ I was angry with my foe — I told it not, my wrath did grow. ’
And perhaps he could leave it there. A cryptic quote from an obscure poem, left for Dante to decipher himself. It’s easier, after all, to hide behind his poetry rather than really explain himself. He can bare his heart without baring his heart, in that his emotions are encased behind the words, left to be discovered — and Dante wouldn’t care to become a literarian. He supposes, then, he best bite the bullet. V silently closes his book, fingers dancing over the cover’s embellishments for a moment before he speaks again.
“Dante,” he says, quiet and introspective, “there’s much we need to discuss.” A conversation long awaited. He’s sure Dante has questions, and V would do his best to answer them. No lying, no manipulating, no shielding the truth — it’s all out there, now. There would be no benefit to keeping anything else a secret. “Do you want to talk about it ?”

vince you watched the entirety of marvel vs capcom infinite w me for some ungodly reason so please tell me what yondu would've been doing
bold of you to assume i remember the plot of that at all but: he’s not nice or selfless enough to help save the universe from ultron sigma for nothin’ in return, but he’d probably stick around since rocket & gamora are part of the team. just hanging around making annoying quips and pissing everyone off. makes fun of dante’s stupid fucking CHEST STRAP oh my god...... he flirts with chun-li and she decks him
generally he’d be on the side of the resistance just bc that’s where his friends are but if literally anyone offered him money he’d switch sides so fast
i can kill aliens too maybe you got cash ????
i’m sorry the only half-human dumbass i tolerate is peter. get out of my sight
Nero: wow who’s that Dante
Dante: my husband
Frank: w- we didn’t-
Dante: He’s My Husband :)
