Not quite sure how he lost the shirt in that fight but I appreciate it, Wu Xie definitely appreciates it, and the tattoo is out so the bingo card appreciates it too!

When they were talking about the grandmaster with a medical background I was so hoping it was gonna be Hei Xiazi. They mentioned he did some medical stuff in Mystery of the Abyss. I was so excited for my chaotic bastard to come back.

Nice to see that Wang Pangzi’s flirting skills haven’t improved one bit in the what ten-fifteen years since Ultimate Note?

I finished the show, here’s what I thought.

I adored Pingxie and their relationship. Joseph Zeng’s Wu Xie is, so far, my favourite version of the character. I also loved Xiao Yuliang’s Zhang Qiling and the two of them had great chemistry. I came into the main show for them and I was not disappointed. They were everything I was expecting and more.

Heihua were a complete surprise and an absolute fucking delight. I had no idea these two were going to be in this and I was so thrilled by them. They became fast favourites for obvious reasons and I’m so excited to watch their movie.

The desert/rainforest arc was an absolute blast and I had an amazing time in the first sixteen episodes of the show. Truly Ultimate Note was well on its way to becoming my new favorite DMBJ show.

Unfortunately, I really struggled to get through the lake arc (episodes 18 - 29). Although there were really fun moments here and there, that stretch of episodes were very slow plot wise. I also didn’t vibe with Wang Pangzi and his love interest at all

Thankfully, things picked up in Episode 30 again and I was back to being fully locked in. Obviously the finale is a bit odd since it’s clearly a midpoint to the whole DMBJ story but overall I did really enjoy Ultimate Note.

I really wish this iteration of DMBJ had got a continuation.

See, I told you that Xie Yuchen would be back to flirting with you. Also how the fuck else am I meant to interpret that little smirk Hei Xiazi gave when Xie Yuchen reminded him how flexible he is???

Wu Xie getting a sort of taste of his own medicine. However being around Pingxie and Heihua are very different types of third wheeling. Pingxie are deeply devoted married energy and you’re just like “I feel invisible” because they only prioritise each other and have all these loving stares. Heihua when they get going are constantly in foreplay mode and so you desperately wish you weren’t there to witness it.

Also, a hair monster would be classed as snake adjacent. So if they trigger it I’m counting it. I suppose I could have counted the blood worms back in the Queen Mother’s palace but I didn’t think about it at the time.

See, you do care about that man, Xiao Hua.

It was a little funny how polite Wu Xie was to the hair monster when he didn’t even realise it was Xie Yuchen.

Unfortunately the new idiot squad are very relatable.

Pangzi forgetting that his name is not Wu Xie. Sorry, dude but Zhang Qiling has to stay alive to get married.

Let’s be for real that 1) Hei Xiazi was staring at Xie Yuchen’s ass the whole time - the man whistled as soon as Xie Yuchen came back. 2) Xie Yuchen only came back down because he wants to spend more time with his situationship.

Also, ngl maybe Mrs Huo and Cox Hendry deserve each other as old rich assholes.

Zhang Qiling is wondering why Wu Xie couldn’t be included in their team.

You can deny it all you want and keep rebuffing him the goat debt but you’re down bad for this raccoon man, Xiao Hua.

It does look a lot like kryptonite in this light lmao.

Unfortunately, I think Hei Xiazi might still be into that. How many kinks are these two gonna unlock by episode 37? I said the fic writers probably have a field day with these two and every time they interact I feel that I’m proven even more right.

Don’t be too deterred by the shut down tho Hei Xiazi I think Wu Xie almost dying put him out of the mood but I’m sure he’ll be right back flirting with you soon.

Poor Wu Xie, now it’s his turn to third wheel and Heihua are FREAKS. Unfortunately for him, tomb raiding is foreplay to Heihua. Good luck, dude.

Love to see that Heihua are back to being disgustingly flirtatious but this time Mop has to deal with them flirting while they talk about eating him. I think that would give me a complex.

And now it’s Wu Xie’s turn to carry Zhang Qiling. I love parallels. This show really said these two are soulmates and a perfect match.

Also, with regards to the Queen Mother still being in the meteor, I guess the writings said that she went in. They never said anything about her coming out!

And i agree, that massive snake was indeed what I would call the Mother of All Snakes.

It’s giving Rosa and Pimento in that one episode of b99. You know, the one in season 3 where they were flirting horrifically and making everyone (especially Terry) super uncomfortable but when Rosa was like “okay let’s do this”, Pimento fucking bailed because of his commitment issues. That’s them. That’s Heihua in this episode.

You can’t tell me that cutting Xie Yuchen off wasn’t the censors cutting in because whatever he was gonna say was gonna be romantic as shit. Also, Mop, I love your loser energy but don’t interrupt the couple who are pretending they aren’t horribly into each other from having their goodbye toast.

I’m gonna need another ten fanfics about this episode as well. Please have them on my desk by Monday, thanks.

Love that in this episode in particular Wu Xie is like making it abundantly clear that he and Zhang Qiling are definitely 1000% getting married at some point.

Lost his memories but he’s still chill with lying against Wu Xie being cradled and later Pangzi.

It took 16 episodes but hey we get to see Zhang Qiling’s tattoo that’s another bingo card!

Are all of Wu Xie’s uncles evil? Because this guy gives me the creeps.
