Incredible. While snakes can be rather delicate, they also often prove amazingly durable and resilient, like this #RedBelliedBlacksnake from #SpringfieldLakes. Despite a massive amount of scarring, suggesting this beautiful beast was nearly cut in two at some point, the injury was old and well healed. Saw this cute little guy curled up against the gale winds today -Red Bellied Black Snake

Disturbed this lovely red-bellied black snake while I was setting up southern bell frog monitoring sites. It watched from the safety of the #wetland for at least 10 minutes until I left

A stand off with a large #malekangaroo last week, a rendezvous with #redbelliedblacksnake today, delight at the distinct calls of the #easternwhipbird in the #gondwanarainforest, and a nice #photoop with this very hungry #azurekingfisher that was flirting around us as we sat (in the background in the upper left corner) admiring at the views of the #baxterfalls; the exploration of #australianfauna alone is worth all the pain on our, what locals call, #walkinthepark.
