.☘︎˖— “Hey uhm… I made this, it's the first one I made and it didn't quite fit my dad. Phantom pain is awful, you should try keeping it warm…” ݁A crocheted sleeve made to cover an arm stump is offered. It's an earthy red and made of warm wool, but it does have a couple of holes—she had just learned to crochet, after all.
.☘︎˖— “ My dad is in nerve meds for this stuff, for when it's really bad. I dunno if they'd work for you but it may be good to look into it…” ݁
The jackals ears softly twitch twords the little girls voice, and its like a switch is flipped- his expression softens and turns so kind and gentle. As opposed to the resting bitch face given to adults. Listening intently to her words, a soft sigh leaves him as he softly reached out, and very gently, he takes the sleeve offered to him with a gentle smile and warm hum.
“Oh sweetheart, aren’t you just so kind.. thank you, kiddo. It looks lovely. Ill do my best to keep it in good condition.” The jackal doesnt talk to her like shes a clueless child, but just… very slow, kind, and low toned. A motherly sort of tone. Kids always hit that soft spot that triggered his instincts to parent and love. (He blamed his mother for it, but it was never something he complained about.)
“Ill look into what i can afford to use for the pain, if that helps ease your mind any? I appreciate the kind gesture, sweetie, your fathers done amazing at raising you well.” A soft smile is flashed, he tries his damndest to not look creepy with how his facial burns have ruined his lips and make his teeth stick out like hes always baring them. He’d feel horrid if the poor girl got scared of his smile. Although he did feel bad— he knew he didnt have the money for medication like she spoke of. Mercenary or not, he wasn’t stealing medication. People needed that more than he did.
