When I had a layover and a flight cancellation in Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, I had no idea that it was the second largest airport in the US. I started walking around and it was taking a long time, over an hour, to see the five terminals: A, B, C, D, E. There are over 160 gates. You can walk to each terminal or take the Skylink light rail train (without exiting the post-security area). American Airlines has the most gates here.

The Skylink train arrives every two minutes and runs 24 hours a day. The destination of the train is also clearly indicated.

Now that I’ve seen all five terminals, Terminal D is the nicest (the international terminal). It has duty free shopping and stores like Chanel, Coach, Michael Kors, Longchamp. There’s a Pinkberry and a Minute Suites if you want to rent a room to nap. The restrooms are nicest in Terminal D. Terminal A has some updated areas with nicer looking seating and two Pinkberry shops. Terminal B has a Red Mango. Terminal C has a Pinkberry. There are quite a few different BBQ restaurants, including Salt Lick.

The food options are decent – lots of chains like Chick-Fil-A, Popeye’s, McDonald’s, Auntie Anne’s, Panera, Subway, 7-Eleven, Starbucks, Shake Shack, Dunkin Donuts, IHOP, California Pizza Kitchen, etc. There are more froyo shops here (six) than in any other airport in the world. Most of the dining options close around 8:30 PM – 9 PM on a weekday.

I spotted two chapels, spas, places for video gamers, and some areas where you can stretch out to sleep. Power outlets are everywhere and wi-fi is complimentary. Some areas looked old and quite a few of the moving walkways weren’t on. I noticed quite a few shops had Amazon’s Just Walk Out Technology.
