Between Lanes - Chapter Five
Rin kept his eyes forward too, but Haru could sense the subtle shift taking place. A glance in his direction, the faintest twitch at the corner of his mouth, and then Rin was pressing ahead, accelerating into a sprint. It was a challenge, but this time it wasn't laced with the anger or desperation Haru had come to expect. Haru felt the impulse to match him, to kick hard and close the gap instantly, but instead he let Rin slip ahead, watching the way his narrow hips swayed, the black shorts hanging low enough to show the curve of his lower back when his hoodie rode up on each stride. There was something almost hypnotic in the way Rin moved, all energy and reckless forward motion, and Haru couldn't look away.
He hung back a few paces, gradually letting the distance stretch out. The early sun was angled low enough to cast Rin's shadow ahead of him, lengthening every movement and painting his shifting outline across the sand. Haru watched the muscle in Rin's calf contract with each push off the ground, the flex and release in his thighs. Hair that had been tucked under the cap had started to slip free, a few burgundy strands streaming behind him. He stared at the pale crescent of skin above Rin's collar, the sweat clinging to the curve of his neck right where it joined his shoulder. Haru felt the familiar heat start up in his chest, but instead of retreating as it usually did, it kept spreading further, and further, and further, until…
Just a little snippet from the chapter I uploaded today, along with the art I created to go along with it. :) I'm having so much fun experimenting with digital art! I think I still have a lot to learn, especially with developing my own style, but it's a process. P.S. I'd get a boner too if Rin was running in front of me looking like THAT Read on AO3
