yes, DC's Flash has a whole "ooohhh look its kinda you but evil, but actually they're completely different individual they just share the same powers as you," and while they're neat and all, i always have preferred a "Man vs Self" narrative. (in a literal sense)
its much more interesting in my own opinion, in a way its a character deconstruction, putting up a mirror showing an alternate version of one self, a what-could've-been.
