Do you also write headcanons? (I love this blog btw)
Hi, sorry if this was submitted a while ago. I donāt check my inbox that much. Iām not 100% sure what headcanons are, but I donāt think I write them. (I know this is awkward.) Anyways Iām really glad you love this blog! That means a lot to me. In all honesty I just made this blog for myself never expecting anyone to see it or follow and now I have like 400 followers or something and itās insane! Iām gonna stop now because this is getting ridiculously long. š³

Well he wasnāt expecting that! Taalās eyes went wide for a moment as he looked the smaller Yveltal over. āIām guessing this is what you meant by donāt freak out?ā He was certainly more curious about the colors than anything else, not to mention that super-sentai transformation sequence. Still, his wasnāt exactly subtle.
He grabbed hold of the pendent around his neck, the blue gemstone starting to glow as his body was enveloped in azure flames. āPersona!ā He shouted as his human form shattered like glass, the massive red and black bird appearing from the light which accompanied it. One massive wing beat and he was airborne. āFollowing you, fletching.ā
Zaffre didnāt respond. Instead, he broke through the tree cover, and raced up into the sky. He was eager to get up into the sky, and use his dark colouring to hide in the clouds. Within seconds, he quickly spread his wings, and did a quick spin to break his trajectory, before racing off towards the east.Ā
By now, he didnāt have to look down, as he raced towards the abandoned region. It felt good to be heading home... even if Kalos would always still be home in a way as well...Ā
Before long, civilization faded behind them. Zaffre looked down at the untamed wilderness below him, as the trees passed below. Every now and again, they would fly over a broken line of trees, showing a crumbling, overgrown road, but for the most part, it was nothing but nature, as far as the eye could see.Ā
Just as his wings started to get tired though, that wilderness was broken by the sight of ruins. He flew over, what looked like, the ruins of a broken feudal town. There was nothing left in the town but crumbling stone houses, and a broken well in the center of town. The wilderness had already mostly taken back the town, with trees growing in the middle of houses, and flowers growing in the streets.Ā
There was several more towns like that one, all dotting the land like ancient tombstones. All devoid of people. Ā
Zaffre turned his attention back to the air in front of him, and saw a large mountain appearing over the horizon. On top of the mountain, was a large stone castle.Ā
āThere it is!ā He cawed. The Yveltal seemed to find renewed energy as he saw his home, and picked up the pace. However, as he got closer, something caught his attention... Half of the crumbling, aged castle was lined with wooden scaffolding. Ā
He stared ahead in surprise,Ā āThe heck?ā Quickly, he glanced back at Taal, before descending towards the castle.Ā
Zaffre slowed down though, when he passed over the ruins of the village at the foot of the mountain. Lights were on, and some of the better-conditioned homes had been built up in a sort of temporary shelter. There was also several construction vehicles parked in the ruined streets. He shook his head, and quickly descended towards the castle faster.Ā
When he finally reached it, he quickly landed on the ground in front of a long walkway on the other side of the collapsed drawbridge, and transformed back to his Gijinka Form.
The castle was ancient, and was definitely showing itās age. Several decorative pieces out front were broken, or gone entirely. Including the center fountain?Ā
Zaffre walked across the front courtyard, towards the large, double front doors. There was a large hole in the ground where the broken fountain had rested. It looked like someone had removed the fountain...Ā
He shook his head, and started towards the front doors,Ā āWell uh... there was a broken fountain here? Mind yer step.āĀ
The Yveltal hurried over to the doors, and threw them inwards,Ā āHey! Bacon Breath! Iām back!āĀ
There was no answer.Ā
Frowning, Zaffre entered the Great Hall of the Castle. It was a large room, lined with several support pillars. He was expecting to see the broken pillars yet again, but to his surprise, he saw several pillars lined with more scaffolding, and some had already been repaired.Ā
A large stained glass window had been replaced in the back of the Great Hall, casting mutlicoloured lighting down upon the room. The image in the glass was that of a Yveltal, with itās wings spread wide, and itās tail dipped down, like the letterĀ āYā.Ā
āWell! This is our home!ā He grinned, and turned around to face Taal again,Ā āOr I guess ya could say our ānestā.ā He put a hand on his side,Ā āI thought Rasvelg would be here waiting fer us... especially if he sensed another Yveltal entering his territory? But I guess heās busy? Ah well! Make yerself at home!āĀ
He turned around to look at theĀ ārepairsā done to the Great Hall in his absense,Ā āI can give ya a tour while we wait if ya want, or we can just head to the den, and ya can rest fer a bit! I know itās a bit of a long flight!ā
Message me a fandom you know I'm in and I'll tell you how I got into it.
Homestuck?
Let me tell you, about homestuck.
Ah, interesting tale behind this one, I knew it'd be coming so have a sit and get ready for it. It's very long though, so if you'd rather pass it, go ahead.
On an old forum I was on which I don't really go on anymore because it steered away from my interest I had two friends that read and liked homestuck. One had a picture of the heads of all the trolls in her signature. I asked what they were, but didn't really think much of the answer. This was.. two years ago about? I din't care much about the answer, talked with her a bit about it but overall forgot the encounter.
My other friend on that forum made so many injokes about the comic that I'd have to constantly ask "what the fuck are you talking about?" He'd do his best to explain, but it'd always boil down to the same. Read it, and you'll get it.Ā
I didn't really want to.
I read half the first act but I had too much stuff with school to really actively do anything, it was just after christmasĀ break I believe? So I forgot about it by the time summer rolled around. Summer of 2011, I had nothing to do and no friends in real life because I was still in high school and didn't cosplay much. Hadn't found that one anime or game (other than LoZ but that's hard to find a dedicated group for since everyone knows it) that could get me into any fandom for real.
So I did what any sane kid would do, and read webcomics all summer long!
I found homestuck at the beginning, but I was too lazy to read all of it. I went and did an archive binge of a shorter comic, slowly building up my reading speed and my understanding of 'it gets better'. It's an easy thing to tell someone, but it's harder toĀ describeĀ it so they believe it, you know? That sorta thing that you have to find the full understanding of yourself. So I read different comics.Ā Supernormal Step,Ā FreakAngels,Ā Footloose, andĀ El Goonish ShiveĀ for example. I have a list of at least 50 after that summer.
And then, looking at the TvTropes list of long running comics because I wanted a comic that I wouldn't catch up with right away when I finally got an interest in it and would have to wait for each update, IĀ rediscoveredĀ it. Homestuck.
So I started to read it, for the third time. I slowed down a little, got urged by that same friend on the old forum again, and caught up to it in about.. 3 or 4 days. I didn't sleep much those days, but I don't sleep much now either. So I was caught up by the time september rolled around and I didn't really do much still in the actual fandom. I was a fan, but not part of the fandom.
It wasn't until october that I met another homestuck fan, on the costume day my school had for halloween. I did a closet cosplay of Rose and this girl, three years below me, was Terezi. She also had a simple cosplay, I mean who'll bother for highschool when you don't know who else is in the fandom there?Ā
That year so far had been the shittiest. My graduating year and I the legit shittiest thus far. It was a good thing I found homestuck, let me tell you. Anyway we hung out a lot after that, but moving on. I went to the Otakuthon Halloween Party as Rose as well, in an incredibly shitty cosplay that I am not going to be putting pictures up of, at least until I have a picture of myself now in that same cosplay, done well. I have it, just haven't had the chance to have a shoot with it. I met a couple of homestucks then, while I was running the fortune telling booth.
(side note, the party started getting really boring since I don't dance so I had little to do since all the video games were taken..)Ā
So since I'm a regular on the Otakuthon team I asked if there was someone that wanted help and I got landed at the fortune teller's. Rose Lalonde, giving out fortunes. What a coincidence. There I meet actually a handful of other homestucks! Also picture taken, and contact to some. Of course since my cosplay sucked majorly did shopping and sewing and got it to something more acceptable.
Thus, April sixth, my first photoshoot ever and it happens to be homestuck! Two friends (now, I was sorta friends with one and became friends with the other) and I just playing around and having fun. Some pictures of that are under my cosplay tag if you must go look now. April 13th, there's a little get together and we eat cake. The next day is a huge homestuck meet.
April 14th, the first time I felt like I was in a fandom, with people that understood me and it, people I could talk with and joke about nothing and everything.
After that, the friends I made, bullshit and assholes at school stopped mattering as much. Sure all the stuff that happened before then still hurt, the things happening until I graduated had still hurt, but at least I had a buffer now.Ā
tl;dr
The main thing that got me into the comic and then into the fandom:Ā Friends.
Three days that stick out as all things of how I got into the fandom, more than just being a fan of the comic which took me almost a year to actually just sit down and read the thing:
October 31st, the day I met my morail and did my first homestuck cosplay.
April 6th, my first day getting to know another, and having my first photoshoot.
April 14th, the day I met everyone that I still cosplay with to this day. We may have not spoken much then, but since then so much more so.
